Franklin: Tax base - Residential vs. Commercial/Industrial
Commercial/Industrial Propoerties, 21.93%
Residential Properties, 78.07%
To reduce the residential rate by $1, the commercial/industrial folks would see an increase of $4. A split tax will not do anything to resolve Franklin’s problems.
A split tax will only shift a share of the pie from one group of taxpayers to another.
Franklin needs to GROW the pie!
