Vibe

I like this magazine mainly because I am a fan of the rapper Eminem who is posed on the front, and also, as red is my favourite colour, I like the writing and the effects on it. I also like the simplicity of the magazine as it makes it easier to understand, and is effective for someone who is always busy, as it involves less concentration. I think that the magazine is aimed at people of the late teens, and early twenties because of the adult look, yet simplicity. Also his stern look, with his arms out and tattooed show that he is the “boss” and that the magazine only needs to rely on him and nothing else. Also, the way that the magazine is laid out is easily

QI like this magazine, as like vibe, it is simple and easy to understand. I like the use of the colour red, as already mentioned, because its my favourite colour. I also like the use of the panthers, as they help to make me feel as though the magazine isn't just for music, but for other media and entertainment. It also an appealing magazine as it involves the sexy pose, from a sexy star. This effective as the singer is probably a crush on many young teenage boys and they would like to see more. Also, the cover lines use of the word “sexy” is also attractive to the eye.

kerrangI like this magazine because of the way that it makes itself seem as though it is there for you, “everything you wanted…”. I also like the simple use of only 3 colours, black, white and yellow. I also like it because of the band that is used on the front to sell the magazine, this is as I like their music, so am more likely to like this magazine. I’d say that this magazine is aimed at teenagers and possibly people of very early 20’s. its appeal is also held buy the “I don’t care look” from the world famous punk band. Too young teens this is influential, and shows how powerful and effective the image is.

Smash HitsI like this magazine as it has Michael Jackson on the front, and because he was iconic for the last 30 years, it seems to be a photo that will affect nearly everyone. Also, I like the colours as they are primary, and I find them to be the most effective. I am also attracted by the monkey in the corner, as it makes me question as to what a monkey would have to do with music. The angry face of the image also helps to and effect to the magazine as it shows that it isn't all fun and games, though this is then criticised by the image of the monkey, that basically says “don’t worry, we still are fun”. Also, because the image of the monkey is small, it almost makes it seem as though it doesn’t want to be too overpowering in being childish, yet it still wants you to know that it is.

New Musical ExpressI like this magazine because it is, like the others simple as it only involves the main image and a large heading. This helps to attract attention of the reader, and also with the name of the band being posted across the image, fans of the band feel more into buying the magazine, as they know the bands image and name. the colours are also attracting as they are plain and simple and don’t overpower the image or the messages. The image is also effective for the magazine as it is shown to be in front of the mast head, showing that the magazine has a high enough reputation to be able to sell using the band
