Dynamism in the Indian Political
System
If you notice around the city of Mumbai, there’s a wave of developments happening. Most
particularly in the satellite city of Navi Mumbai. You could say our politicians are realising
the need, or perhaps it’s due to a new factor. Co-incidentally the emergence of new
politicians is also taking shape in the state of Maharashtra. And the effect of young Indian
politicians on the city developments cannot be ignored. The young political leaders of India
understand the need and aspirations of the city and proper infrastructure is one of the
many.
Of the notable developments the city has seen, Kharghar and Panvel have witnessed
dramatic changes. A once remote piece of land is now seen as a well-connected residential
haven for majority of the young population. With land prices still cheaper than main-land
Mumbai, and exiting residential projects yet to come up, it’s a golden opportunity for urban
working people as well as real estate investors.
Kharghar development has grown manifolds. It has the best of everything. A residential and
safe locality, efficient transport system to major cities and breath-taking landscape. With
beautiful waterfalls and the mythological Pandav Caves at the backdrop, Kharghar is the
new urban city. A state-of-the-art Railway station, magnificiently themed Central Park and
an up-coming airport, nothing can stop this village’s transformationinto a modern day city.
Same goes for Panvel, a once dry and empty land is now bustling with activity and people.
With office and residential spaces crawling up, the Panvel development project is suddenly
the most talked topic around. With resorts and water parks catering to the luxuries of
tourists and locals, living in Panvel is nothing but a dream.
The Kharghar development and Panvel development has turned positively, yet there is lots
to be done. Apart from these towns, other neighbouring cities are also in line to receive a
similar transformation.
The credit should definitely been given to the effort and vision of young politicians. But the
state of our political system is still not ready to change. It’s depressing to see that our
country is still under the chains of senior leaders. If you compare with the scenario of UK,
where the ruling parliament head is half the age of our PM, there is something to be
learnt. An age limit on party members could perhaps force senior most politicians to resign.
Encouraging youth to come forward, and listening to their solutions is something every
party will need to focus. Youth should be encouraged to pursue politics as a graduate
subject and come forward towards serving the nation. Though the whole scenario is
assumed to be a dirty game play, it’s imperative to have honest leaders to change the game.
The rise of the new political era in India is just the beginning of many new infrastructural
developments to come. All eyes on the results of 2014 elections.
