Crack platoon Crack Platoon or Dhaka Crack

Platoon was a special commando team of the Mukti Bahini which was formed in 1971 during the Bangladesh Liberation War.

It was a suicide squad formed by

young members of Mukti Bahini which carried out commando operations in Dhaka and its surroundings .

The commandos were mostly students and civilians, received guerrilla training later in the training camps for Mukti Bahini in India and then engaged in battle against Pakistan Army.

Major objectives and success

The basic objectives of Crack Platoon wereto demonstrate the strength of Mukti Bahini, terrorizing Pakistan Army and their collaborators.

That commando team also aimed at inspiringthe people of Dhaka who were frequentlybeing victims of killing and torture.

These objectives were successfully fulfilled by Crack Platoon.

.Shafi Imam Rumi

Rumi was born on 29 March 1951 in the highermiddle-class family of Jahanara and Sharif Imam. He stood third in the Pakistan Education Board.

By March 1971, he completed his H.S.C. and got admitted in Engineering College (currently BUET).

He was also enrolled into Illinois Institute of Technology but did not attend due to the war.

.Shafi Imam Rumi

Shafi Imam Rumi was a guerilla fighter of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He took training for the war in Melaghar, Agartala under Sector-2. After his training he came to Dhaka to join the Crack Platoon. He conducted some major guerrilla operations against the Pakistan Army. After his operation he became an icon to his fellow warriors.
