Richard NixonHe was the 37th president of the US, serving from 1969-1974. The only president to resign the office.

REPUBLICANS NOMINATED RICHARD M. NIXON, WHO PROMISED IF HE ELECTED HE WOULD DELIVER “PEACE WITH HONOR.” HE WANTED THE US OUT OF VIETNAM, BUT HE ALSO DEMANDED HONORABLE PEACE TERMS. HE PROMISED TO LISTEN TO “THE FORGOTTEN MAJORITY – THE NONSHOUTERS AND NONDEMONSTRATORS .”HE PLANNED TO NEGOTIATE TO END THE WAR!.
