“How difficult is it to obtain for a study permit?”
FAQ No. 1
For a study permit, you must demonstrate that you meet the admission requirements and have been granted admission to a
program of study. You must also show that you have, or have access to, the financial resources required to complete your studies.

Furthermore, you must demonstrate that you will be likely to return to your country of origin upon the completion of your studies. This doesn’t mean that you necessarily
have to leave Canada when your studies are over, but the government has to be convinced that you are unlikely to stay in Canada without status when your studies
have been completed.

If you are a minor (under the age of 18) at the time of your application, you will also require an adult in Canada to act as a
custodian.

“I have an LMO based work permit. Is my
spouse able to apply for an open work
permit?”
FAQ No. 2
If your work permit is for an occupation with skill level 0, A, or B (a high skilled occupation), then your spouse should be eligible to apply
for an open work permit.
