BACKGROUND

CHILDHOOD

➤Born in 1978 in Moldova, the former Soviet Union, Bianna Golodryga immigrated to the United States during her childhood.

➤Her parents, Vitaly and Zhanna Golodryga, moved her to Houston, Texas when she was only two years old.

EDUCATION

HIGH SCHOOL

➤ In Houston the family made a new life and eventually Bianna was enrolled in the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

COLLEGE LIFE

➤Bianna attended the University of Texas in Austin where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies with a minor in Economics.

WORK/LIFE

➤A far cry from the life in theater she had once dreamed of, Bianna began working for an Austin-based brokerage firm while still attending college.

FINANCE

➤Her interest in the financial sector and economics in general led to a career in the financial industry.

➤This did not last long, however, as a dip in the economy resulted in her taking a job as a bond trader after graduation.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2001

➤Shortly after arriving in the Big Apple, Bianna was hired by CNBC as a bureau producer from the New York Stock Exchange.

9/11 SPOTLIGHT

➤She produced live coverage following the 9/11 terrorist attacks and conducted countless interviews with top business leaders including President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and investor Warren Buffett.

2004

➤ In 2004, she worked as segment producer for the nation’s most watched financial news program, “The Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo.”

2006

➤At CNBC Golodryga covered various high profile events for the network, including the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.

➤ In addition to her production duties, she also began contributing as an on-air correspondent for the financial channel in 2006.

➤After working with CNBC for several years, in 2007, Bianna moved to ABC to report on current issues and crises in the American economic landscape, including the automobile, housing, and credit industries.

➤In April 2010, she was named co-anchor of "GMA Weekend”.

➤Since then, the program has become the most watched Saturday morning news program in the timeslot.

➤Golodryga also served as ABC News' Business Correspondent contributing to all ABC News broadcasts and platforms including "Good Morning America," "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" and "Nightline."

2008

➤Bianna was a major contributor to the 2008 presidential campaign digital and social network media coverage for ABC.

➤Bianna Golodryga is married to Peter Orszag, Vice-Chairman at Citigroup and former OMB and CBO director.

➤She is fluent in Russian.
