ALL THAT PHILLY JAZZ JOINS COALITION TO TAKE BACK VACANT LAND Coalition Will Promote Development Without Displacement

Philadelphia—The Philadelphia Coalition for Affordable Communities, a coalition of community, faith and labor organizations, will launch its Development Without Displacement campaign at the Sept. 11, 2014 meeting of City Council. “Coalition members are not opposed to economic development,” said Faye Anderson, Project Manager of All That Philly Jazz. “The goal of the Development Without Displacement campaign is to help create diverse, healthy equitable neighborhoods. Too often, the residents who stayed through the rough times are displaced when a neighborhood becomes cool.” Anderson added: “On a lot of the abandoned land, there used to be jazz spots.
