John Cornyn

• Previously a district judge, member of the supreme court, and an attorney general.

• Byrd is the President Pro Tempore. Elected in 2009, this is his third term and is up for re-election in.

• Senator from West Virginia and former Senate Leader of the Democratic Party.

• Currently the oldest member of the U.S. Congress

Born in North Carolina, but raised in West Virginia.

• Assumed Majority Leader office from 2005 to present. Two year terms and is up for re-election in 2011.

• Was a member of the Nevada State Assembly and Lieutenant governor in 1970.
