Conquer emerging markets and become an alternative to feature phones with targeted prices around $25 for the smartphones.Cost: $25 The �rst commercial Firefox OS based phone: ZTE Open, launched in Spain in 2013, by Telefonica.Devices that run on Firefox OS: ZTE Open, LG Fireweb and Alcatel One Touch.Markets: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Montenegro, Peru, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela. TIZEN OS | Linux-based OS by Samsung. Launched in 2012. Developed in collaboration with Intel and backed up by device manufacturers Intel, Huawei, Fujitsu and Vodafone. Devices: designed for numerous smart devices: smartphones, tablets, in-vehicle infotainment devices, smart TVs, and cameras. The �rst consumer products based on Tizen: Samsung ZEQ 9000, Systena tablet, Samsung’s NX300M.

SAILFISH OS | Linux-based OS by Jolla Sail�sh is a Linux-based OS by Jolla in cooperation with the Mer project and supported by the Sail�sh Alliance.Launched in Finland in November 2013.Entirely gesture based, button-free multitasking UI. Android support engine that allows native Android apps to run on the device.Cost: 399€

UBUNTU OS | Linux based OS by Canonical UK Ltd and Ubuntu community The name derives from a Southern African philosophy of ubuntu meaning “human-ness”, often translated as “humanity towards others”Released in October 2013.Idea of “one interface for all devices”, smartphones, tablets or desktops.Price range: $200 - £400
