not what you thought it was or it wasn’t what you expected it to be like and want to refund it, especially on online services.

To solve online purchasing issues through not knowing enough detail of the product or if worth the money you are paying for

Key insight statements

Many people worry about spending their money incorrectly, this prevent people buying the wrong product. It also stops the worry that the website you are purchasing from is untrustworthy and is trying to scam you as the app has a list of trustworthy websites you can buy it from.

We have also found that certain companies forge fake review to make you buy their products more and this would eliminate this factor because we would be able to block certain users if they comment on the same product repeatedly.

Mini ElevatorOur team, Omnicron, are in the process of putting together an app to help

internet customers to purchase products that they will regret buying and to give them cheaper or an even better alternative to the product they are planning on buying.

User ProfilesWe have had feedback from 20 people who have given us key information on

how the app is viewed towards the public. This information has shown us our target market lies within the more avid shoppers, especially online users.

We have learnt that people would like to have this app because it would be good to have a universal reviews for different products all in one place instead of going onto different sites to see peoples opinions.

We also had someone say that it would be an improvement from other reviewing services because normally you can't post other products or url links to something that is better than the product you are interested in purchasing.

One of the other competitors on the market are Consmr but the app allows you to take a picture of a barcode or QR code and it will bring up the product and reviews. Our app however holds more viable uses and ease of access if the barcode is not available

Alternatives and how our app differs

OverviewThis app offers reviews on products before purchasing the item in person or ordering online with little knowledge on

the productReviews can be added by users for new or existing products on the app which can be rated to either possibly

become the top useful comment for the public or be taken down as off topic or useless information. On certain popular products, they can become “popular” and be viewed on the homepage of the topic when the

topic is narrowed down for general ease.(Search bar is also available)On the products own page, screenshots and videos are shown to get inner detail on the product and have video

links of up front reviews by people

Flow of app & user feedback integrated

We have tried to make our app come under the ‘3 click rule’ in which you only have to use three ‘clicks’ or swipes etc. to get to wherever you want to get to so in our app if you want to find a review for a product it only takes three taps and similarly if you want to find other products similar to it. The feedback we have received about this underlying feature is very positive and our users have said that it makes it very easy to navigate around the app and it makes the app very user friendly and easy to use.

Feasibility(Data, content, technical)

We have found that the app would be easily feasible on the technical view on the app and the content of it would take time to build. The data managing would be not too difficult, I think the hardest part would be the rating system and having everyones rating averaged and then shown in the ‘star rating’ form.

Business Model

The business model we have chosen is having features in our app that companies who own the products (that feature in our app) can place links to their website or put other products that are similar to the product they supply in the recommended section. We plan to make money of this because we think that companies will want to direct as much traffic as they can from our app from people who want to buy their products thus creating a benefit for them also.

Our marketing strategy will consist of advertisements of online shopping websites for games, books, movies and technology.

Our pricing strategy will be penetration pricing. We will use this method because it would help our app penetrate the market, therefore increasing our chance of survival when starting up. This will be essential for our app because the reviewing market is very competitive.

We are going to try to advertise our product on online shopping services and possibly on the more popular ones. Our product slogan is “Think before you buy” and below is a storyboard of the advertisement:

Extras

We had a professional IT expert who came and talked to us about our ideas and explained some key points that helped us with what we should implement into our app and what we should not. A method we used to find out key points for the app as to make us draw a venn diagram which is shown on the next slide. We filled this in and found where our app idea was strongest and weakest and used this knowledge to alter our idea slightly to strengthen the weaker area and to make sure the strongest points of the app where more prominent.
