7 reasons why user uninstall your app
Reason 1: Irrelevant
• One of the major reasons as to why a user uninstalls an app is because it is irrelevant to him/her.
• It can be soon after the installation or at a point when he realizes the app is idle and he’s not using it at all.
• With each session, marginal utility of your app to the user might be decreasing.
• The developer needs to increase the marginal utility by luring the user to come back to the app through simple re-engagement.

Reason 2: Memory usage, Network problem
• If the app process is running in the background, it consumes a lot of power which is not liked by the users.
• If the app is too big, or just consumes too much space, users are quick to reject them.
• Users are also sensitive about network usage. • Hence, if your app is consuming disproportionate amount of
network, users are quick to dismiss it.

Reason 3: Push notifications
• Push notifications are an excellent way to bring users back to the app but doing too much of it is never a good idea.
• Some users are picky about notifications and therefore sending way too many of them will drive them away from the app.
• As a developer, make sure that you don’t consume more time and attention from the user than he is ready to give.

Reason 4: Bad user experience
• User experience is a key in the app industry. • Performance makes an app stand out in the crowd of million apps• User might not like a buggy app which is full of glitches and takes
forever to download.• Another aspect of user experience is about the display of the app. • Developers need to make sure that it works perfectly on every
platform and devices which deals with the alignment, loading of images etc.
• While monetizing your user base, don’t go over-board with ads since they are interrupting for the user

Reason 5: Interruption in core functionality
• Core functionality of the app is the most important aspect.• Make sure your app works very smoothly with core functions of the
phone• For eg: If you are making a dialer app, make sure that making calls
and picking up calls functions very smoothly visually as well as in performance on all devices.
• If you are making an app relating to the pics taken by the camera, it should not diminish in any sense the capacity of device’s camera.

Reason 6: Sudden change in cost structures
• It is a no brainer to not to charge users for a service that was earlier promised as free
• Also upwards revision of prices of the services you provided will be detrimental to your app.
• One example is London based taxi app “hailo”. They changed their price structure without taking users in confidence and paid dearly for it.
• For some apps, the uninstall is much more when it asks for upgrading itself to premium and starts charging the user.
• The user might like the app otherwise but does not feel it worthy to be paid for.

Reason 7: Access to private information
• Too many permission asked by the app can irritate or scare the user for intruding in his personal data.
• It can even cause a user to delete an app without even using it. • The app shouldn’t ask for the unnecessary access permission. • It should also mention what all access it needs and assure the user of
privacy.
