WHAT IS TAGUA?

Tagua is a seed from palm trees, which are growing in the ecuadorian rainforest. Before they can be used to work with, they need to be dried for about two years.

Till the1950 the tagua material was mainly used to make buttons and other items like chessmen and doorknobs.

We work with Tagua, an organic and sustainable material with which we are referring to the latest fashion trends. OUR STORY

We, Laura Villarreal and Tom Christen, started soon after we met each other in Ecuador with V il la Jewelry. On a trip trough the ecuadorian Amazon, we met artisans who are working with Tagua, they showed us the whole process and we could also give a hand. We quickly began to realize that we share the same interest in the environment and that our friendship, as the eco-friendly and social thought, was the birth from V il la Jewelry.

Every order we produce individual locally in Ecuador. Thanks to the strong cooperation from many families, we are quick in manufacturing and are able to handle big orders without a problem. This individual production allows us directly to take care of our clients desires and like that we are offering something exceptional and unique.
