Promoting a lifestyle I love to see sale notification right away when I open the website. It saves me a lot of time looking for discount items.

The natural and un-advertising postures on the homepage instantly reminds me of Urban Outfitters’ brand philosophy: casual, chic and effortless.

Flash sale with expiration date creates a sense of urgency. Together with product picture that conveys the idea behind Urban Outfitters, I can truly see their branding effort.

A few words can catch my attention and I can’t help to click immediately. “The next necessities” is a catchy tagline because it clicks with a potential customer’s mind when she, is exactly looking for the necessities out of all clothing choices.

“Welcome back” is a fun play of words, simply intriguing.

Even the product display has art in it. Earrings are placed in a way that’s clean and stylish. The model is not excessively posing (a mistake many clothing websites make). The shadow behind the crossbody bag is also conveying a lifestyle of sunshine and relaxation.

Creating a communityFor fashion, clothing, lifestyle websites, instagram is a MUST for engaging visitors and customers. When they join a community, they are not only more likely to commit themselves, they also become powerful salespersons to potential visitors by sharing their lives as real persons.

Website blog is another way of creating a community within your customers and draw in new ones. Blog is a more extensive way of showing your branding philosophy, i.e. lifestyle philosophy of Urban Outfitters. From here, people with similar philosophies will come closer and some will even be converted to following Urban Outfitters’ lifestyle.

It is very brave for UO to expand to tech gadgets and home décor. Although these are not areas of UO’s expertise and authority, it managed to incorporate its lifestyle vibe and focuses on stylish and vintage gadgets.

UO does tech in a way that conveys its messages. I can easily see from this collection that it wants to promote tech gadgets to enrich life and make your lifestyle much easier.
