TSU Review - First Social & Payment
Platform Where Users Own Their Content
Did you know that social media platform’s like Facebook and Twitter and their investors profit
from the content you share on their platforms? They get advertisers to pay them so they can
target you through various ads on their platforms by buy their products. Whether its pair of Dr.
Dre Beats, or the latest music album, top companies pays tons of money every year to popular
social media platforms in order to target their audiences. However, there is a NEW social media
platform by the name of TSU that has created a platform with an algorithm that re-distributes ad
sales revenue directly to the source.
Tsu promotes itself as the first social network that pays its users to share their content.
Additionally, they also allow their users maintain ownership of the content they post. it's free to
join and you must receive an invite from an existing member.
Tus founder Sebastian Sobczak states, “Established social networks have built amazing business
models prospering on the total monetization of free user-generated content,” “Why should
anyone commercially benefit from someone else’s image, likeness and work giving no financial
return to the owner? The markets we participate in are enormous, growing and can materially
compensate each user -- we’re simply and uniquely rewarding the users who are doing all the
work. This is the way the world should work.”
At first glance, the Tsu platform looks a lot like the social media juggernaut, Facebook.
However, all ad revenue that is generated from organic page views, only 10 percent of the money
goes to TSU. The remaining 90 percent is distributed to its users. The more views and
engagement a user generates, the larger portion of the pie the user gets. Their model definitely
benefits the site’s most popular users like popular celebrities, but there are additional ways users
can earn money as well.
Smaller percentages remaining revenue pie are used as incentive for existing users to invite their
friends to Tsu, which is invite-only platform. Users also receive payments when the friends they
invite share engaging posts, too.
Tsu’s model is founded on that idea that content creators, not just the platform provider, deserve
to get paid for posting their original content on their platform.
