Product description: Introduction

• Auto rickshaws were introduced in India in the 1950s. Seven decades later, urban citizens might love them or hate them but can surely not ignore them. Here’s how the numbers look like in the top cities – over 1.2 lakh auto rickshaws in Mumbai and Bangalore over 80,000.

• The market size of auto-rickshaws in Indian cities (Tier I cities – Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad) is more than 50,000(population greater than 4 million). Based on population statistics, it is estimated that Tier I and II cities have 4 to 16 auto-rickshaws serving every 1,000 people on average.

• This shows how it becomes very necessary for every citizen of India to use the auto rickshaw.

Product description: Introduction

• Commuters everywhere complain about greedy auto drivers.

• The complaints against auto drivers are so familiar to most of us. The two consistent complaints are that they overcharge and they misbehave with women passengers.

• Their meters are often broken, tampered with or simply never turned on, forcing the passenger into bad-tempered haggling on the road. If a mutually acceptable price proves elusive, the driver just speeds off.

Market Segmentation:

Identifying and profiling distinct groups of users who differ in their needs and preferences. Here we are going to segment geographically as well as demographically. Geographical Segmentation:• We are about to segment various urban areas where there

are colleges and schools located, so that we can put up advertisements to promote the installation of our application, and then the uses of it. We can also target areas were it rains so that people who use autos can keep our app.

and children,• Women of the age 15-60years and Children of the age 0-

SWOT Analysis: Strenghts

• Can easily identify locations.• The auto driver cannot cheat the customer.• You can reach early with the shortest route.• You can avoid busy traffic roads.• Catching the culprit is easier. (in case someone would misbehave

then information about him can be stored or sent directly to the police also).

• Can give feedback of the service and suggestions for improvements of this app through various platforms such as facebook, sms, etc.

Page 25: Product Launch Sample

Weakness

• Not all of the auto rickshaw drivers have a smart phone so this app cannot be applied to all the autos.

• This application is limited to only bangalore areas.• Network facility may not be available in all areas.• Not all the citizens have a smart phone.• People would just catch nearby autos instead of searching

for autos in the app.

Page 26: Product Launch Sample

Opportunities:

• Expanding into different states.• Booking in advance.• Feedback on traffic from other users.• “Congestion Near by” can show traffic conditions around

searched location.• Traffic conditions can be colour categorized. So that each

colour indicates different densities of traffic.

Page 27: Product Launch Sample

Threats:

• There can be more competition in the future.• The auto driver may snatch the phone or break it to avoid

his location being sent.
