LT. GEN. MARY LEGEREOptimistic About Army’s Intelligence Transformation
As the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence for the Army, Lt. Gen. Mary
Legere is responsible for the operations, readiness and modernization of
the Army’s 58,000 person Intelligence Corps.
A career Army officer and intelligence professional, Legere recently
reviewed the Army Intelligence Corps’ modernization objectives with
senior executives from over one hundred large and small defense industry
partners, outlining the Army Intelligence Corps major objectives for
modernization and science and technology.
“For all the uncertainty in security environment and fiscal landscape, its an
exciting time to be an Army Intelligence professional,” LTG Mary Legere said.
Building on the lessons learned from over a decade of continuous operations
and innovation, we are in a really unique period -- translating what we’ve
learned into some really innovative approaches to improve our systems,
force structure, and approaches to intelligence readiness”.
“Strong partnerships with large and small industry partners have been
absolutely essential in this effort.”
Legere said, “as the innovation of commercial partners has been critical to
accelerating solutions to the field, and in ensuring the Army’s Soldiers have
the benefit of the best possible solutions.”
