You can drive traffic from your other social media channels to Facebook – shares, comments and likes from variousplatforms will help you engage more effectively with your target audience.

Images and visual content

Posts with visuals (such as infographics, memes, quotes, people and funny animals) have the best chance ofperforming than any other form of content. 1/3

This is probably one of the most understated marketing strategies. Every time you send an e-mail insert a link withyour latest post (or the most appropriate post regarding the content of the newsletter). Something like: “Have youseen our latest post – [link]?”. Don’t forget to include links to all your social media channels in your e-mail signature.

Timing

The time of your post can have a significant impact on the performance of your Facebook organic post reach. Usethe ‘When your Fans are Online’ tab in the Facebook Page Insights dashboard to create post updates so you canreach your audience while they are online.

Create urgency

Sometimes the problem with promotions is that they are a good deal but people have been given too long to decideif they want to take advantage of the offer. Create urgency by using calls to action such as “Today only – freedelivery” or “Sale ends in 24 hours” can create urgency and make customers take an action.

Comments on posts

Nothing says “I care” more than replying to comments (even to negative feedback). It’s a simple but very effectiveway of making people aware that you have read what they have to say and you are willing to contribute to thediscussion. This is a useful tactic because not only you get more engagement through contribution than youraverage posts, but you also obtain valuable ideas and feedback if you answer thoughtfully or ask the rightquestions. This way you can also boost engagement when those commenting tag others.

Pin or highlight posts

Pinning a specific post at the top of your Facebook page will increase its performance. You can also highlight a post.Highlighting a post means you have selected it to expand across your page. This tactic can be particularly usefulwhen promoting a special offer.

Boost a post

Boosting a specific post is very easy and the option is available for any post in the Timeline of your page. Simplyclick of the ‘Boost Post’ button that’s available at the lower right corner of the post. You can either push the post to‘people you choose through targeting’ or ‘people who like your page and their friends’. Selecting your budget is verysimple. As your goal is to increase engagement, you would be better off choosing the first option as with the secondoption, the friends of your fans may not be interested in your business.
