• Defining Expectations – Defining roles and setting goals
• Measuring Results – Accountability, performance evaluation and
recognition/rewards
• Company Environment
First and foremost, you must define your company culture.
Identify your values and reinforce them at every chance you get.
Does each of your team members know what he/she is responsible for?

• Hold Your Team Accountable
– Use rewards and repercussions as needed

Performance evaluations should: • Happen at least twice per year • Give your team a voice
– Use questionnaires
• List out specific goals/areas of improvement

• Determine if ability or motivation is the culprit.
• If it is ability, look at your processes.
• If it is motivation, see why commitment/shared values are missing.

or reward them for it • Build a fun environment-- Plan a happy hour this Friday!
