ELCB Scheme

Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) is a safety device used in electrical installations with high Earth impedance to prevent shock. DERC has made ELCB compulsory for all the connections having sanctioned load over and above 2kW. ELCB have the same function as RCCB but are voltage sensor devise. The ELCB detects fault currents from live to the Earth (ground) wire within the installation it protects. The main purpose of Earth leakage protectors is to prevent injury to hu-mans and animals. To ensure safety of consumers against hazards of electric leakage, TATA Power -DDL has initiated discount based scheme with Havells India Ltd. to make the customer premises safe and secure.
