PechaKucha Night

Adianta School of Leadership and Innovation

Pecha Kucha Night was a public event that aimed to give voice to any effort that is really attempting to think about education in relation to innovation. We looked at examples of new approaches to education that instil learnings related to creativity, problem solving, design, and other essential ingredients of the innovation process. Speakers included educationists, innovators and startups working on all forms and stages of education. This included education solutions for the bottom of the pyramid, education at the preschool level, higher education, adult education, education for the disabled, web-based education services, and many more. We looked at not only traditional education (degrees, courses and institutions), but also social and cultural education, incubation as education, and other non-traditional definitions of education.

Innovate for Good @India

Microsoft in partnership with QUEST Alliance is organizing Innovate for Good @India, an ideation event that brings together young people with an inclination to become change makers for society. The event will be focused on helping young people who are keen on social innovation, social entrepreneurship or social good, take their change-making ideas through a set of training and activities to help bring them closer to reality. The event follow up involves providing these young people with resources to help move their idea forward.

Agenda Brief

The day-long event will provide an ideal platform for young people to discuss and crystallize ideas and inspirations into actionable projects. On-site trainings, mentoring and peer collaboration will form the basis of the event agenda. Youth will have access to experts from Microsoft and QUEST Alliance to help them create the beginnings of a socially relevant proposal that can be further nurtured beyond the event. The delegates will continue receiving support from QUEST Alliance and Microsoft via the online Innovate for Good community portal.

Event Format

• Specific ideas will be generated, with teams formed around each idea

• These ideas will have been taken through a daylong set of learning and exercises, a review and series of feedback by a panel of “experts”, and the “owner/team” are prepared to move forward in the next steps to bring their ideas to life

Google Business Group : Knowledge Series

Event Details These events are aimed at sharing knowledge that informs and empowers entrepreneurs and businesses. In this event, we will be having discussions on two very important topics: Introduction to Google Business Photos: Google Business Photos is a program which allows customers to walk around, explore, and interact with a business like never before. Operating as a beta till now, the program is now open for businesses to enroll. Your business images will appear on Google searches, Google Maps, and Google+ Local and also allow you to easily embed panoramic photos on your own website, social media pages, and more! This is perfect for business like restaurants, retail shops, gyms, salons, and more who have a high 'visual appeal' attached to their businesses. The session would be conducted by Nishant Nair- Program Manager at Google. Nishant currently manages data and imagery collection programs for the Google Maps team across South Asia. Nishant has managed operations for several successful large scale pan India Google initiatives for the last five years. The Google Internet Bus & the Google Art Project are some of the most successful projects he has run in the past. Early Stage Funding Scenario in India – What’s Hot and What’s Not: Thanks to the growing seed/angel funds and VCs, who have been trying to strengthen the start-up ecosystem in India by taking big financial bets and actively engaging with the start-up by providing appropriate mentoring and guidance, start-up ventures have grown at a massive pace in the last seven to eight years. The preferences for sectors / sub-sectors have been changing continuously but what has not been changing is the look-out for an idea that has the potential for scaling up massively even if not operating at a big scale in the beginning. In the session, we will be going through the changing deals landscape in the last few years and what are the preferred sub-sectors by VCs currently. This session would be conducted by Abhishek Vaish- Partner at Nucleus Partners (a boutique financial advisory firm). Abhishek has over eight years of rich experience in investment banking and private equity in India and Europe. His work experience includes working on multi-billion dollar cross-border transactions with Goldman Sachs (one of the world’s largest investment bank) and various strategic advisory assignments with Grant Thornton (one of the world’s biggest advisory firm). He specializes in advising clients in raising capital or acquiring businesses for inorganic growth. Since early 2012, he has been focusing on early to growth stage capital raising advisory for

Women Entrepreneurs: Builders of a Progressive Nation

Google Business Groups - Delhi chapter

Google Business Groups - Delhi chapter held an event on 27th July, 2013 based on the theme :

Women Entrepreneurs : Builders of a Progressive Nation This event had 4 women speakers who all

are at the top in their respective fields. AIESEC DI members attended this event. The event was really

informative and gave a better picture of the entrepreneurial world. It gave a perspective on how

technology today helps building businesses and how technology can help an organization grow and

position itself externally.

This event gave a great opportunity to network with people of different industries and we got a few leads for future.

Also, many people didn’t know about AIESEC and thus our presence their assured that people came to know about our organization more and know as to what AIESEC does.

It was also really great to meet a couple of alumni there who were a part of AIESEC a long time back

and appreciated how the organization has grown so much in the past years.

Fair Trade Forum

This is a write up by Enid Lall, Manager, Outgoing Exchange in the Student Sector, who attended the

Conference and also gave an Information Seminar explaining to the audience what AIESEC is about

and how it helps connect the world.

“The conference was organised by Fair trade forum India and financed by the The European union

along with Hivos where I talked to such distinguished people and gathered ideas on business

administration, youth empowerment and sustainable thinking. AIESEC gave a presentation on how

Page 6: External Forums Attended by AIESEC in Delhi IIT

AIESEC fits in as first choice partners if thinking sustainable is part of the agenda and how we serve

such a noble cause of world peace. We also emphasized on how integral the youth is to economic

development and thus how to contribute to trade. I said, and I quote , ' if impacting the youth is your

agenda, the the best way is the AIESEC way' . I started off by introducing AIESEC, our products( and

thus also explaining in detail the GIP and GCDP) , and concluding on how we can partner with fair

trade and any other organisation. After my presentation got over, I was open to questions of any

sort. I straightened out people's conception of AIESEC and how it is changing the world by each

minute.

At the end, I saw myself having lunch in the company of principals of renowned colleges, CEOs of companies ( not many really), delegates of the European Union and some heads of NGOs. “
