Andrew Charlton: Strategic Advisor

After stints as a government advisor to former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, and as an advisor

to Wesfarmers, Andrew Charlton helped form a strategic and economic analytics firm called AlphaBeta.

Charlton helps clients in Australia and throughout Asia build better strategies that take into account the

vast and complex global market forces that drive their success or failure. Helping clients see these forces

is only part of his job.

He also helps companies adapt to constantly changing conditions and develop strategies based on deep

market analysis.

Throughout his career, Andrew Charlton has taken the data as gospel. The actual numbers and the

relationships between them have always fascinated Charlton. He says that this is the reason why he

chose to study economics so closely.

He earned a Doctorate in Economics from the Oxford University and is an honorary fellow of Melbourne

University. He lives and works in Sydney, Australia, where AlphaBeta’s Australia base is located.
