However, there is a similar number of boys (8 girls 5 boys) which means I shouldn’t make it too towards females as this would be discriminating against male and would put them off buying it; limiting the readers.

Under 18

After asking “What is your age?” on my survey, I found out all of my market was under 18 which could mean that I should aim in targeting a younger audience, without discriminating any other age ranges.

Genderfemale male

After asking the question “What is your gender” on my survey, I found out that there is a mixture of both females and males but there appears to be more females which could mean I should try to aim towards a female audience by introducing lighter colours such as pink.

However, there is a similar number of boys (8 girls 5 boys) which means I shouldn’t make it too towards females as this would be discriminating against male and would put them off buying it; limiting the readers.

How often do you read magazines?

Extremely OftenVery often Moderatly often Slightly often Not at all often

After asking the question, “How often do you read magazines?” I found out that most people only buy magazines slightly often, followed by moderately often. This could enable me to find out how well my magazine would sell. Also, this could mean that I should release a monthly subscription rather than weekly as not many people would be willing to buy a magazine each week.

After asking, How much would you pay for a music magazine?’’ the majority of people said between £1 and £3. This can give me an idea on where abouts I should price my magazine so that it isn’t too cheap or expensive for the readers. I also made a mistake when listing pricing options by jumping from £3 to £5+ which means that any price between that cannot be chosen and so might limit the reliability of my results.

What genre of music are you most interested in?

Rock/ Indie RockRnB and popClassicalCountry Other

After asking “What genre of music are you most interested in?” I found out that the most popular option was Rock/ Indie rock which is my selected genre and could mean a high sales rate since it’s the one the public were most interested in. The least chosen were classical and country which means it wouldn’t be a good idea to chose these as my genre as this would mean less sales.

Would you buy a music magazine?

yes NoMaybeDon’t know

I asked the question, would you buy a music magazine, and found out that the majority of the answers said yes; this is a clue as to if my magazine would become successful and if people are willing to buy it then this will increase sales. Maybe was also a popular option, with 6 people saying so and this will also tell me whether or not my magazine would sell well. However, 1 person said don’t know and 0 people said no, showing that this is a popular genre of magazine and can tell me how many would sell.

What name do you think is more appropriate to a

music magazine? Enigma TemporaryRealityConscienceB&W Indie

After asking the question, What name do you think is more appropriate to a music magazine, my most popular result was Enigma which as a personal favourite of mine. Having these results can help get a public opinion on what name would suit better and I can apply this to my magazine to increase the sales and over all presentation. The next popular option is Conscience, which is followed by Reality, B&W indie and finally, Temporary which had no results.

After asking, what articles would interest you the most, I found out that the most popular article was Gossip, followed by a tied new artist and bands. And top 10 songs of this month. Having this data could mean that for my double page spread one of the top 3 would be the best option to do which will interest the readers.

The least popular was a detailed review about an album, which could mean that this could be tedious to the readers and therefore they will stop being interested in my magazine because of a boring article.
