Welcome to Vetek Chic On Wheels! I am so excited you are looking to me as your professional pet sitter or have inquired about my in-home continued veterinary assistance! This e-book will take you through my background, services, how I work, what you can expect from me and what I expect from my clients. I can‘t wait to meet you and your pet family! A brief History. Kim is a Certified Veterinary Technician who has been in the business for over 23 years. Kim does limited pet sitting and only accepts a handful of clients so that she can accommodate their pet sitting needs. Kim also provides In-home pet nursing demonstrations for clients that have pets with on-going medical care. She offers demonstrations for nervous pet owners on how to safely and effectively administer insulin and subcutaneous fluids to their pets. This is Kim’s main business but because of her love of all pets she accepts limited pet sitting so she can assist pet owners like you and enjoy some playtime herself! Kim also works in a veterinary clinic on Monday’s and Friday’s from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm. Kim is able to come in late and leave early to accommodate pet sit visits. She is also available after work for demonstrations. 3

completely covered under my insurance policy. Paula does ONLY noon pet visits and ONLY when I can’t. Your pets will love her!

Each Pet Sitting visit consists of a minimum of: 30 minutes, but are often longer. I don't "time" my visits. I prefer quality over quantity! I’ve stayed 45-60 minutes before! It all depends on what your pet needs! What I do at each visit: •cleaning of litter boxes. Checking to make sure normal urine/bm •clean, refresh and refill water and food bowls •Poo pick up •individual play time and for established and social pets, walks! •newspapers in and mail check if requested •lights on or off in desired areas to make it appear you are home •Garbage/Recycle out if needed •plants watered if requested •head count at the close of each visit •alarm secured at close of each visit and all locks/doors double checked •text/video/email updates before 7 pm each night •non signage on my vehicle or clothing so that no one knows you are away

Pet Sitting Meet and Greet

What you can expect at our Meet and Greet

I will text or call you when I am on my way to our scheduled, complimentary “Meet and Greet.” If I’ve mailed you the Client Service Agreement prior to our meeting it is very important that this be filled out entirely before I arrive, the best you can.

Please have 2 keys made. If you do not, I may not be able to accept the requested job.

7

Page 8: What you can expect from vetek chic on

Key Management

I will need 2 sets of your house key, one for myself and the other for an emergency back up.

If you have a garage code you'd like to share, I will use that as well, but I will still NEED house keys in case the garage door doesn't work for some reason.

I will never accept just the garage code as our main source of entry. You are more than welcome to ask for you keys back after services are complete. I will offer complimentary drop off and pick up for the first 2 sets of services. After that I will charge a $15 service fee for pick up and drop off. If you prefer that I keep your keys for future services, they are kept in the office in a locked key safe. None of the keys are tagged with any information that would alert someone to your home

or address.

Once I arrive

Once I arrive I will show you my Credentials including my Business License, Business Insurance, CVT License, Pet CPR and First Aid Instructor License and a copy of various continued education certificates in the veterinary field.

I will allow your pet to warm up to me by not making too much fuss at first. I want your pet to feel comfortable, not anxious so please do not think I am ignoring your pet if I don’t greet excitedly with some pets. Cats in particular like to come to a new guest in their home, rather than the guest approaching them. I’ve learned to read animal behavior through my many years as a veterinary technician and from the first moment I enter your home I am already reading your pet’s signals so I can approach appropriately.

The Meet and Greet is an essential tool I use to get to know you, the pet parent, and start bonding with your pets. This is for Pet Sitting Only unless I have on-

going medical appointments with you and need keys. During the Meet and Greet a few things will happen:

● Sniff and kiss and purr and pet . I will get down to your pet's level to greet them. If you have a shy pet, it works best if I simply ignore them and wait patiently for them to approach me. This doesn't mean I don’t like your pets, it just means I am respecting your dog or cats feelings and allowing them time to get to know me on their own. ● Clarify questions . I will want to sit down somewhere (kitchen table, couch, dining room table) to review your information and ask any clarifying questions they may have. ● Keys . I will need 2 sets of house keys. One for myself and one for my office in case of an emergency. ● Payment is due upfront. You will need to provide payment for your first set of services. Once you are an established client you may pay via credit/debit card, I will charge your card 5-7 days prior to your next departure date. ● Show and tell . Lastly, I need to be shown where everything is, where kitty likes to hide, and get the basic lay of the land. Cleaning supplies and lots of paper towels! That's it! Your meet and greet should be 30-45 minutes or less!

10

Page 11: What you can expect from vetek chic on

That was easy!

11

Page 12: What you can expect from vetek chic on

Service Times

I can't provide a specific time that I will be visiting your pets unless there are medications that need to be given at certain times, but pets with doggy doors or ones that are puppy pad potty trained will be later than the pet’s that have no way out to relieve themselves other than me

Daily Visits

• The Breakfast visits are done between 6:30 am and 10 am

• The Mid day visit it done between 11am and 2 pm

• The Dinner visit is done between 4pm and 6 pm

12

Payment

Payment is due up front. For new clients I will need a check at the Meet and Greet for services.

Once you are an established client you may pay with a credit/debit card or check. If your expiration date changes I will need to have updated information.

If you choose to pay with a check I just ask that

the check be mailed and received prior to your departure or left in view at my first visit.

When you are gone, I will keep you up to date on how your pet/s are doing via text message, email or phone calls. I will let you know If they are eating and drinking normally, if I notice anything peculiar and if there is anything in your home that needs attention. I will first try to determine the cause, and alert you to see how you'd like it handled. I am more than happy to coordinate repairs with professionals on your behalf. You will receive texts/pictures /videos of your pets so you know they are happy, healthy and well taken care of! Besides the fact that you will most likely be missing your babies, it's nice to get a daily picture to help alleviate YOUR separation anxiety. I will keep your pets on their normal routine as much as possible. I will make sure they get lots of love, attention and playtime! I will ask you to let me know when you've made it home so that I know you made it safely and that your pets will be cared for. If you are delayed for any reason, just let me know and I will continue visiting your pet/s until your return.

In an Emergency • If I become too Ill to pet sit or if I’m unable to get to your pets for any other reason

my husband and Paula are my back up. They are both trained and qualified to do business exactly like me and are each covered under my insurance policy. They would call you and explain the circumstances.

• If your pets require an unexpected trip to the vet, I will transport them, stay with them through diagnosis and treatment options. Of course I will keep in touch with you through the entire visit. Most vets like to communicate with the pet parent on treatment options. There is no charge for unexpected trips to the vet. You will however, need to take care of the actual vet bill.

15

ALL TEXT, DAILY UPDATES WILL BE BEFORE 7 PM THAT DAY. ON OCCASION I AM ABLE TO TEXT YOU AT EACH VISIT BUT THIS IS SOMETIMES TOO MUCH, EVEN FOR YOU! NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS! I WILL ALWAYS TEXT YOU AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE 7 PM!

16

No matter what service or services you decide will work best for your pet family, know that working with Vetek Chic On Wheels means you are working with an experienced, educated, Certified Veterinary Technician. I pride myself on communication and organization. Updates arrive daily no later than 7 pm. Whether that is by text, email or a phone call . It's your choice on how you prefer to be updated. Last day visits will include a Pic Collage of your pet(s) and maybe even an I-Movie! I am experienced with the I pad and it takes me only seconds each visit to capture enough footage to create an I-Movie for you before our last visit. I do NOT waste our visits on creating collages/movies. I finish these projects on my own time in the evening when I am through working. I do my best to provide exceptional services. But, I am only human and mistakes can happen. If for any reason you are not satisfied with my services, I will do what is needed to make things right.

My last visit date for pet sitting

You will receive a Journal or a Pic Collage with brief notes

You will receive a journal or note along with a reminder to “Text or Call” me when you arrive home

Welcome home! • I hope you had a great get a way! Here you will find a “Daily Journal”

or a “Pawcation Tidbit” of our visits so that you may see what your pet/s did while you were away. If this is your First visit with Vetek Chic On Wheels, I will be leaving you with a Goodie Bag. If I left a toy for your pet please only give to him/her and when you are able to supervise while they are enjoying them. If this is a repeat visit, I thank you for your continued business! I would love to leave a goody bag each visit but with today’s economy, it just isn’t feasible anymore. However, I will ALWAYS leave you a Daily Journal or a Paw-Cation Tidbit!

• **** Each visit, I will follow any and all instructions you have left me, including medications, special needs, plants watered, etc. I will also do poop patrol every single visit!

• When I finished my last visit, everything was clean. (Occasionally there will be accidents after I leave) I’m sorry if that has happened!

• The best referral for me is “word of mouth” from my satisfied clients; therefore I appreciate any referrals you may pass on to your friends, family, neighbors or veterinarian.

• If a Veterinary Clinic or a Veterinarian has personally referred my services to you I ask if you could please take a moment to give them a quick call and let them know how I did. This is GOLD to me! Both medically related visits and Pet Sitting visits.

• I also respect any suggestions that you may have that would have made you more satisfied with my services. I take these suggestions very seriously and do the best I can to continue to do the best for you!

• If you were happy with my services please don’t be afraid to drop me an email, text or phone call. I love praise as much as the next person and it keeps me excited and motivated to keep doing what I do!

• Tel: 602-359-369 Email: [email protected]. • Please remember to Text or Call me when you arrive home so that I

can confidently close this job. 602-359-3693

Services and Client Agreement

• There is a short Client Agreement that you will receive via email prior to our scheduled visit. I am also able to mail them for those without email.

• Services are to be paid up front via check, cash or credit card.

• I will call or text you when I am on my way.

22

Page 23: What you can expect from vetek chic on

Medical assistance and Demonstrations

• My Medical Services provide pet parents who have pets that have been newly diagnosed with a medical condition that requires on-going home care. I work with area veterinarians and are referred to many clients by them to assist their clients in the comfort of their own home.

• Visits last between 2 and 3 hours for Subcutaneous fluid administrations.

• I am NOT a Veterinarian! I am a Certified Veterinary Technician who works with the valley’s Veterinarians by providing their clients assistance at home. If there is something I feel is “Out-of-the-scope of my training, I will refer you back to your veterinarian. Mobile veterinarians are a good option for people who need assistance at home but have not yet seen a veterinarian. I am unable to see you if you have not seen a veterinarian first.

Most pet parents are apprehensive about providing subcutaneous fluids or injections to their pets on a daily basis but understand that it is essential to their pets longevity. Having exhausted bringing their pet into the clinic each day for the treatment has now made it near impossible to do so without un-needed stress to the pet as well as the pet parent. This is where I come in!

23

Page 24: What you can expect from vetek chic on

Medical continued…..

• I work by Veterinarian referrals but if a pet parent finds me on the internet and has the veterinary prescribed supplies and the parent informs the veterinarian about me and they are okay with it, then I will also accept them.

• I do NOT carry supplies other than a stethoscope, thermometer, exam gloves and bandage material. If you’ve requested me for a demonstration on Sc fluids or Insulin injections, you MUST have all the supplies.

• I schedule the medical visits 1 hour to 1.5 hours PRIOR to your pet’s normal time of receiving the care. This allows us time to review your current situation, supplies, medications and routine.

24

Page 25: What you can expect from vetek chic on

Medical continued…..

• I provide a Power Point which is included in the cost of the demonstration. This power point shows you slide by slide how to administer Sc Fluids, tips, methods and effective strategies.

• We will review your current routine and make changes as seen fit.

• We will discuss guidelines and actions to make the act easier and more effective, eliminating and fears or anxiousness you have.

• You will practice the arrangement and the administration from start to finish, even practicing on a stuffed animal or an orange for the actual injection.

• I will email you a record of our visit the following day as well as email one to your veterinarian.

• I will follow up with you in one or two days to see how you are doing.

• You will receive unending phone support for as long as you need it.
