What You Can Do

• PETS Bill (Federal)• The Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act, S. 2548

and H.R. 3858, would require state and local agencies to include pets in

their disaster plans.

• Louisiana Disaster Pet Evacuation Plan

SB 607 has moved out of the Senate Judiciary Committee but still

faces substantial challenges if it is to become law this year. Please

contact Governor Blanco and the Senate Finance Committee today.

• 365 feral cats are transported in eleven

RV transports to sanctuaries across the

• Monks, artists lofts, and vets accept them

• Divided into around 60 sections

• Each section has 30 or so F/W sites

• Takes around 4 hours each section

• A large temporary rescue station was set up for two months to shelter dogs and cats

• Goal of 25 animals each day-but

• -not enough shelters to take them

• Also, many were too frightened by now

• Still doing selective trapping and rescue
