Hi, I’m Karen Bostick, the creator of PetsPage.com. Most pet owners don’t know veterinary specialists, like the veterinary internist needed to save my little Tinks’ life, even exist. Thankfully, I found out just in time to save Tinks. I quickly learned I was not alone in my lack of awareness of veterinary specialty medicine. So I made it my mission to create awareness for other pet owners, so they can be informed should a tragedy strike. Please take a minute to watch the introduction video on the next page. You’ll also find more about PetsPage.com, including our background, photos, site features as well as other information I hope you’ll find useful. I’d love to share more with you about my mission and how I’m getting the word out to other pet owners about veterinary specialty medicine. I believe your readers and/or viewers will find my story and the information compelling. Please contact me at [email protected] or 800.832.5696 x104 to schedule an interview today. I look forward to speaking with you soon!

PetsPage Mission

To make pet owners aware of a higher level of veterinary care in the form of veterinary specialists that few pet owners know exist, and that can quite literally save pets’ lives through an engaging social community designed to connect pet lovers with other pet lovers as well as veterinary specialists, other pet professionals and pet

products in a fun, friendly and interactive way at PetsPage.com.

PetsPage Background

In 2009, PetsPage.com creator Karen Bostick’s beloved Maltipoo dog, Tinks became critically ill. Tinks was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). The general practice veterinarian treating Tinks diagnosed him, but did not recommend any additional outside help. With Tinks at death’s doorstep, Karen begged her vet for more treatment options. Finally, with only moments to spare in Tinks’ life, she was informed that the specialized veterinary care Tinks needed was indeed available. Tinks was ultimately saved by a board certified veterinary internist – a veterinary specialist - and now he’s a happy, healthy, and vibrant 9 year old member of Karen’s family.

The daughter of a veterinarian herself, Karen was surprised that even she was unaware of veterinary specialists. Her experience with Tinks set her on a mission to bring awareness to other pet lovers. Shortly after Tinks’ recovery in 2009, Karen co-founded BlackwellKing, a recruiting and change consulting firm in specialty veterinary medicine. After working for several years directly with veterinary specialists, she knew she needed to work more closely with pet owners to increase awareness about advanced veterinary care. She left BlackwellKing in early 2013 to create PetsPage.com to do just that. PetsPage.com is not however, just a dry pet health education website. In fact, it’s anything but! PetsPage.com is an engaging social community designed to connect pet lovers with other pet lovers as well as veterinary specialists, other pet professionals and pet products in a fun, friendly and interactive way! PetsPage.com – “A Place for the Social Pet”.

Who is Karen Bostick?

Social Entrepreneur – Pet Advocate

Creator – PetsPage.Com

Karen Bostick is more than a social entrepreneur pioneering a pet lifestyle through entrepreneurship

and pet advocacy. Karen is filled with passion and purpose as the result of a scary personal experience that almost ended in the tragic death of a beloved member of her family – an adorable little Maltipoo named Tinks.

In 2009, Karen discovered Tinks was critically ill and was fading fast. Her primary veterinarian continued treatment but little Tinks was not getting any better and fading fast. A Southern Belle, originally from

Alabama with a determined spirit, Karen was not about to give up on Tinks. Tinks was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). The general vet treating

Tinks did not recommend any additional treatment. With Tinks at death’s doorstep,

Karen begged her vet for more treatment options. Finally, she was informed that the specialized veterinary care Tinks needed was indeed available. Tinks was ultimately saved by a board certified veterinary internist – a veterinary specialty and now is a happy, healthy, and vibrant 9 year old member of Karen’s family.

The daughter of a veterinarian herself, Karen was surprised that even she was unaware of veterinary specialists. Her experience with Tinks set her on a mission to bring awareness to other pet lovers. In 2009, along with her sister, Karen co - founded BlackwellKing a recruiting and change consulting firm in specialty veterinary medicine. During her tenure at Blackwell King, Karen visited many

veterinary specialty hospitals and attended numerous specialized conventions. Now, more than ever, Bostick was convinced it was time to bring her message of hope for seriously ill pets with the advanced treatment options available through veterinary specialists to a larger stage.

Karen left BlackwellKing in 2013 to purse her vision of connecting pet owners with veterinary specialists. The result is PetsPage.com. PetsPage is not however, just a dry pet health education website. In fact, it’s anything but! PetsPage.com is an

engaging social community designed to connect pet lovers with other pet lovers as well as veterinary specialists, other pet professionals and pet products in a fun,

friendly and interactive way! “I have had great fun creating new ways to incorporate more social features to attract pet owners to this important information,” said Bostick.

Karen’s professional career began when she assisted her father in the day to day

management of their family veterinary practice. She enjoyed working with him and learned a lot from his entrepreneurial spirit and her love of creating business ideas was born. Karen’s worked closely with many business owners in a variety of industries and growth stages to turn their visions into a profitable venture. She was thrilled to put her skills into action when she went into business with her sister to

help grow a now successful recruiting and consulting company in the veterinary specialty industry.

Karen received formal training in business and accounting management as well as studio art

from Troy University and Boise State University. Bostick holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Troy University. She enjoys using her unique perspective on the pet industry along with everything she’s ever put into her tool belt to

create and grow PetsPage.com into the industry changing vision she knows it will become.
