Part 2
Problem Statement
◦ A new idea of the product (shoes) has to be
developed to generate more revenue and gain
new market share for the company.
Benefits and /or impact if the problem is solved
◦ When the new product has been generated, the
company will gain more revenue and gain new
market share. Hence the profit gained will be
increased as well.

S-Curve Analysis
According to the S-curve analysis, Shoe are located at the 3rd stage (Maturity).
A few indicators are used to show this.
Indicators &
Recommendations System consumes highly specialized resources
Supersystem components intensively adapt themselves to interaction with the system
System generations mainly differ from one another by design and function
Recommended ways to improve the system for a distant future:
•Deep trimming, integration of alternative systems
The footwear product can be trimmed into a smaller size with integrated
function. This means that the shoe would be smaller and does not affect its
regular function
•Switching to another principle of operation
Other methods of wearing shoes may be implanted to generate new product
ideas in providing further ease of wearing. This would impact the current way
of wearing shoes.
