LOCATION AND CLIMATE
They lived in northeastern and northwestern Arizona.In summer it was about 90 degrees, and in winter it was about 40 degrees.
HOME STRUCTURE AND FAMILY STRUCTURE
Made from brick, wet sand, or a clay like substance.The men grew the crops, and made robes , the women made all of the clothes , and the children helped.
FOOD
They ate corn, blue corn, white corn, beans, squash, melons, gourds, pumpkins, peaches, and apricots, and buffalo.There were hunters, and farmers.
CLOTHING AND TOOLS
They wear feathers, animal skins, the women wear painted dresses with a feather band.There tools were bow and arrow, or a spear.
RELIGIOUS BELIEFS AND COMMUNICATION
They believed in kachinas which are powerful ancestor spirits.They would make up words like pookofor dog, kawayo for horse, hoonaw for bear, and sakuna for squirrel.
ARTS AND CRAFTS
oThey made sashes, kilts, leggings, and pots.
They also danced for special occasions.
