introducing new life – new beginnings . . . New  Life  –  New  Beginnings  is  an  innova)ve,  crea)ve,  and  cu<ng  edge  501(c)(3)-‐pending  nonprofit  organiza)on  that  exists  to  inspire  the  youth  community,  build  leaders,  and  ul)mately,  build  a  beIer  society.       The  organiza)on’s  mission,   implemented  by  a  passionate  group  of   leaders,   emphasizes  character  development,   spiritual  growth,  and  grants  kids   the   tools   they  need   to  get   the  power   to  fight  back  against  drugs,  drinking,  and  suicide.    New  Life  -‐  New  Beginnings  provides  many  individuals  with  a  strong  founda)on  for  future  success.

Just  recently  established,  the  organiza)on  was  formed  by  a  group  of    stakeholders  who  were  able  to  see  the  posi)ve  correla)on  between    children’s    understanding    of  God    and  their    long-‐term    achievement    of    academic  goals,  character    development,  and  subsequent  profes-‐  sional  success.  Headquartered  in  Dayton-‐Ohio,  our  mission  is  accom-‐  plished    by    addressing  the  substance  of  His  life  that  gives  the  power  to  resist    the  issues  of  drugs,  drinking,  suicide,  murder,  &  depression    through  Kids  Get  The  Power;  name  changed  to    The  Kingdom  Of  God    Is  Not  In  Word  But  In  Power.  A  book  by  Thomas  C.  Kochel  that  details    the    blessings  God    offers  us.    How  to  listen  to  His  voice,    and    how  to    walk  in  His  power.      We  are    dedicated  to  helping    each    young    person    reach    his  or  her    Individual  poten)al  by  encouraging  devo)on  to  God,  character  build-‐  ing,    the  perusal  of  dreams  and  alterna)ves,  the  unhealthy  prac)ces    of  many  youths  engage  today.  These  are  skills  they  can  and  will  carry    into  adulthood.

Individual  empowerment  and  self-‐determina)on  are  strong  compon-‐  ents  of  the  organiza)on.    Founded  in  2013,  the  organiza)on  was  con-‐  ceived    and  organized  to  address  the  social,  intellectual,  and  spiritual    needs  of  Ohio’s  youth,  to  counteract  failure,  and  to  assist  in  the  successful  transi)on  to  life  post-‐schooling  through  the  teaching  of  Christ’s  message.      Our  mission  is  accomplished  through  programs  and  services  that  exercise  high  standards  of  ethics,  coupled  with  best  prac)ces  in  management  and  accountability.  We  are  dedicated  to  helping  each  child  reach  his  or  her  individual  poten)al  by  encouraging  a  belief  in  God’s  empowering  strength,  providing  tools  to  fight  back  and  demonstra)ng  passionate  commitment  to  being  the  best  leader  you  can  be.      We  teach  character  maIers.

Page 3: For Our Partners Building The Youth

The   challenges  our   youth  are   facing   today  bring   serious   concerns.   Suicide   rates  and  depression  have   crippled  our  youth   communi)es,   and   this   trend   seems   to   grow  more   and  more   alarming   each   day.   Add   this   to   the   persistent  presence  of  drugs  and  violence,  lack  of  adult  role  models,  and  peer  pressure,  and  you  have  a  very  difficult  environ-‐ment  for  kids  to  navigate  around.    We  need  to  do  what  we  can  to  help  and  support  our  youth.

Through  a  number  of  academic  studies,  it  has  been  proven  that  religious  involvement  has  the  poten)al  to  accom-‐  plish   three   important   objec)ves   in   children’s   development.   First,   religious   instruc)on   creates   a   basis   for   which  children  can  shape  their  character  and  core  beliefs,  which   in   turn  can   lead  to  confidence  and  strength  against   the  many   tempta)ons   children   are   exposed   to.   Second,   Chris)anity   finds   its   basis   in   beliefs   considered   crucial   to   life  success,  providing  opportuni)es   to   learn   important   life   skills   such  as   leader-‐ship,   self-‐control,  discipline,  and  kind-‐ness.  Third,  youth  religious  involvement  provides  a  pla`orm  for  community  involvement,  posi)ve  social  interac)on,  and  teamwork.

Although  Chris)an  youth  programs  clearly  provide  opportuni)es  for  posi)ve  outcomes,  research  suggests  that  these  posi)ve  outcomes  are  not  necessarily  automa)c.  For  example,  even  if  parents  are  dedicated  to  going  to  church  and  ins)lling  Chris)an  values  in  their  children,  many  kids  eschew  par)cipa)ng  in  Chris)an  youth  development  programs  aaer  they  move  into  high  school  and  college.  Studies  have  indicated  that  religious  youth  ini)a)ves  may  reduce  the  rate  of  suicide,  drug  and  alcohol  abuse,  and  STDs,  but  many  students  are  choosing  instead  to  either  prac)ce  without  religious  guidance  or  turn  away  from  religion  completely.  Suicide  rates  and  the  seculariza)on  of  universi)es  are  also  gaining  increased  aIen)on.  From  a  psychosocial  perspec)ve,  youth  oaen  feel  excessive  pressure  to  fit  in,  perceive  themselves   as   less   than   or   not   enough,   and  may   feel   lost   in   youth   communi)es   that   endorse   reckless   behavior.  Experiences    such  as    these  have  led    youth    to    experience    low    self-‐confidence    and    low    self-‐esteem.    Further,  poor      judgment,  poor  morality  reasoning,  and  acts  of  violence  and  aggression  have  become  common  in  our  youth  culture  today.  Possibly  due  to  youths  not  having  a  proper  youth  community  within  their  church,  aIri)on  rates  are  extremely  high  during  adolescence  and  adult  hood,  with  an  es)mated  seven  in  ten  Protestants  between  the  ages  of  eighteen  and  thirty  withdrawing  from  church  aIendance  each  year.

Thus,   there   appears   to   be   a   void   between   the   poten)al   posi)ve   outcomes   and   some   of   the   nega)ve   reali)es   of  youth  experience  today.  One  of  the  key  issues  for  leaders  in  youth  religious  programs  must  be  to  close  this  void  and  work    together    to  assure    that    youths    have    strong    resources    for      religious      youth      programming.      An    applied    religious-‐programming    model,  highligh)ng    the  vital    role  of  Religious  organiza)ons  in  designing    Programs      that      Develop    confident,    more    psycho-‐  socially    competent    people,  is  essen)al.

Youth  religious  programs    must    also    recognize    the      cri)cal  role    of  literature    in  implemen)ng  programs    on  a  day-‐to-‐day  basis,  And  of  parents,  in  suppor)ng        their  child  throughout  their  Involvement  in  religious    programs.

The  Many  Benefits  of  Religious  Programs

Page 4: For Our Partners Building The Youth

Acknowledging   the   needs   that   exist   among  our   target   demographic,   our   organiza=on   serves   as   a  well   coordinated   effort   of   community   based   services,   including   youth   mentoring,   character  development,  suicide  preven=on,  alcohol  and  drug  abuse  preven=on,  and  academic  enrichment.  We  teach  children  the  fundamentals  of  hearing  God,  knowing  His  blessings,  walking  in  his  strength,  and  resis=ng  harmful   youth  ac=vi=es.  We  are  also  planning   to  offer   resources   for   students   to  become  involved  in  Chris=an  youth  programs  within  their  community.

We   see   God   as   the   basis   of   all   good   things   in   life.   Teaching   God’s   wisdom   to   children   means  cul)va)ng   strength,   self-‐confidence,   and  a   love   for   themselves  and  others.  We   seek   to   guide  our  na)on’s   children   through   the   difficult   maze   of   growing   up;   it   is   in   resis)ng   poor   decisions   that  children  can  walk   into   the  beauty  of  what   they  are   capable  of   in   life.  We  will   teach  children   that  standing  for  uprightness  can  help  you  become  a  happier,  healthier,  and  more  courageous  individual.

Our  program  is  targeted  toward  young  people  of  all  ages,  star)ng  in  the  organiza)on’s  home  state  of  Ohio.  New  Life  -‐  New  Beginnings,  Inc.  will  begin  by  offering  and  distribu)ng  free  soa  cover  copies  of  Kids  Get  The  Power  to  all  students  enrolled  in  Ohio  state  schools.  As  the  organiza)on  expands  its  programming,   it  will   begin  offering   its   services   to   assist   students   in   finding   aaerschool   fellowship  opportuni)es   in  their  area.  Eventually,  the  program  may   include   its  own  aaerschool  programming  and  partnerships  with  schools.  We  plan  to   focus  our  efforts  on  year-‐round  distribu)on,  ul)mately  making  Kids  Get  The  Power  a  religious  guide  available  to  all  students  at  all  )mes.  We  are  currently  developing  a  method  for  students  to  also  access  the  text  on  smart  phones,  tablets,  and  online.      New  Life  –  New  Beginnings,   Inc.  will   ini)ally  work   toward  publishing  2   to  3,000  +  books  per  Ohio  school   district.   With   Ohio   having   853   school   districts,   our   organiza)on   will   work   diligently   to  produce  the  1,706,000  books  needed  to  grant  each  student  in  Ohio  a  soa  cover  copy.  As  our  mission  grows  in  scope,  we  intend  to  enlarge  our  target  communi)es  to  encompass  school  systems  in  other  states.  We  plan  to  work  with  schools  like  Wayne  High  School  to  assist  them  in  the  establishment  and  suc-‐cess  of   their  aaerschool  programming.  We  also  plan  to  allow  students  to  u)lize  the  book  and  our  services  to  find  an  aaerschool  program  and  Chris)an  youth  group  within  their  community.

Programs

Page 5: For Our Partners Building The Youth

An  integral  component  of  our  current  strategic  plans  involves  undertaking  the  full  development  of  publishing   ac)vi)es   in   an   effort   to   achieve   our   overarching   goals.   The   organiza)on   is   currently

striving  to:

★  Work  closely  with  The  Prophe)c  Trumpet  Ministries  to  publish  books  through  adver)sing  on                        their  website  and  u)lizing  their  publishing  services.    ★  Build  up  the  necessary  materials  to  become  a  self-‐sufficient  and  autonomous  publishing  and                          Chris)an  youth  programming  facilitator.  ★  Create    a    mul)tude    of    online    resources    that  makes  Kids    Get  The  Power  easily  available  to                            children  and  young  adults.  ★  Create    meaningful    partnerships  with  schools    in  order  to  further  our  organiza)on’s  mission.

Our  goals  will  be  accomplished  through  the   implementa)on  of  a  business  model  that   is  organized  around  well-‐developed  prospectus.    Through  out  implementa)on  of  these  proposed  ac)vi)es,  our  organiza)on  will  con)nue  to  address  the  needs  of  our  target  communi)es,  to  brighten  lives,  and  to  assist  youth  in  personal  and  academic  achievement.

The  impact  of  mee)ng  each  of  the  aforemen)oned  goals  is  that  more  individuals  and  their  families  are   served  with   higher   quality   programs   yielding   beIer   long-‐term   outcomes.   Ongoing   evalua)on  assures  progress  and  cost-‐effec)veness.

In   these   economic   )mes,   public   and   private   agencies   are   facing   tremendous   budget   shor`alls.  Parents  are  struggling  to  provide  their  children  with  the  guidance  and  extracurricular  programming  that  they  so  desperately  need.  Families  are  in  need  of  our  services  now  more  than  ever.  We  realize  donors  are  very  carefully  considering  their  annual  giving,  however  we  are  confident  that  spending  these  valuable  and  limited  resources  on  our  programming  is  one  of  the  best  investments  for  a  more  solid  and  hopeful  future  for  our  children.    We  keep  our  administra)ve  costs  low,  offer  high  quality  programming,  and  carefully  measure  outcomes.    We  offer  a  cost-‐effec)ve  solu)on  to  the  growing  issues  of  youth  substance  abuse,  violence,  and  suicide.
