#Myth3 Cigars are only for the spoilt rich, or the top criminals.
This one you can blame on the movies. It’s true that certain cigars can burn a hole in your pocket, but cigars come in thousands of brands - and some of the most wonderful tastes are priced below $5. How’s that for a fact? You don’t have to have mines of money or plush swimming pools to sit near and enjoy a cigar as they have been showing in movies forever. #Myth4 White ash means high quality.
Another myth highly common among the uninitiated and the aficionado alike. The color of the ash depends on the kind of leaves used. And nowhere it says the best tasting tobacco burns white. The white only means the tobacco grew in a soil with high phosphorus and calcium content. End of story.
#Myth5 No other cigar can top a Cuban.
Well, this one has some grain of truth as well as a lot of hype peddled by well-off people who want to show off their wealth. Cuban cigars are seen as a luxury symbol because they are costly, and because the U.S. doesn’t have legal access to them thanks to the embargo.
