NEPAL

I went to Nepal to start first grade

This is our house

We trekked on the backs of elephants

… ponies …

…and Durga

We visited temples

like Swayambhu

The Pagoda was invented in Nepal

Buddha was born in Nepal

So was Manjushree

The people are poor…

… and religious …

… and beautiful…

… and carry things on top of their heads.

Kathmandu is overcrowded

The streets are dirty…

… and so is the waterA drinking pool The Holy Bhagmati river

…but the countryside is beautiful

… and the mountains reach for the sky

The earthquake has left people homeless

And destroyed historic sites …Before After

… and more historic sites …Before After

Namaste Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace,

compassion, strength, and wisdom. The prayers and

mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will

and compassion into all pervading space. Therefore,

prayer flags are thought to bring benefit to all.
