Description
The black- footed ferret lives in Nebraska. My animal is a mammal. Did you know that a black- footed ferret has a head and body that is 15 to 20 inches long and the tail is about 4.25 to 5 inches and it has fur? Well it has a special body part which is it’s feet, so it can run fast.
HABITAT
• The ferret lives in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, Utah, and as well as Chihuahua, Mexico. The ferret’s habitat is in the middle grass prairies.
Living habits
• The ferret eats prairie dogs, squirrels, and mice, and other rodents. Golden eagles, owls, and coyotes try to eat the ferret.
Birth and growth
• A ferret has 3-5 youngs in 41 days after mating. The young are born blind and helpless. They develop their markings when they are about a month old.The young come above ground when they are about 42 days old. The young stay with their mother until fall.
Interesting facts
• The black- footed ferret eats meat.The ferret also eats prairie dogs. It
bites the prairie dog in the back of the neck.
