Best Natural Stretch
Mark Remedies –
How to Make Your
Own Stretch Mark
Creams
By: Katy Miller
Back when I was trying to get rid of my stretch marks, I searched for every stretch
mark treatment and procedure that could possibly help. I discovered that there are a lot of
different opinions as to which treatments actually work and which ones don't. Among the most
controversial are the all-natural stretch mark remedies.
The following are the most common natural stretch mark remedies.
Cocoa Butter
One of the most popular topical applications is Cocoa Butter. I'm sure you've heard different
opinions as to the effectiveness of this one. Cocoa butter is probably the most popular choice for
stretch mark prevention but how well does it really work for those who want to get rid of their
stretch marks? The verdict is still out. Some swear that it has helped while others didn't see any
visible results. I myself tried it and didn't have any success. That doesn't mean that it won't work
for you, so it probably won't hurt to give it a try. Here's one of the most popular natural stretch
mark cream recipes -
One half cup of cocoa butter
1tsp of Vitamin E oil
1tsp of apricot kernel oil
2tsp of wheat germ oil
2tsp bees wax – grated
It's recommended that you warm the mixture until the beeswax has melted and then store it in an
airtight bowl in the fridge then apply it to the affected areas two times a day.
Shea Butter
Another popular stretch mark treatment is Shea Butter which contains vitamins a and e. It's
recommended that you apply Shea butter two to three times a day until you see improvement.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera and Lemon Juice: This mixture can help to diminish some of the redness associated
with the marks. It won't completely eliminate stretch marks but it supposed to help make them
less noticeable.
Here’s another natural stretch mark remedy using Aloe Vera:
One half cup of extra virgin olive oil
Four vitamin e capsules – Oil is taken out and used while the capsule itself is thrown
away
Two Vitamin A Liquid Capsules
One quarter cup of Aloe Vera gel.
After mixing all these ingredients, you have a soothing massage oil that's great for
treating and preventing stretch marks.
Hydration:
Some experts think that it's important to keep the skin well hydrated in order to keep the collagen
production normal. This can be done by making sure you're drinking enough water during the
day. Although not a cure, many say that this is a great way to begin the healing process. It’s
always important to keep your skin hydrated and it can really help with stretch mark prevention,
but it really isn’t effective in eliminating or diminishing their appearance.
Exercise
Some experts claim that you can also get rid of stretch marks by exercising. I consider myself
extremely athletic and I can honestly tell you that I didn't see any reduction in my stretch marks.
You could give it a try. If it doesn’t help, at least you’ll be in good shape.
It's also important to feed your body adequate amounts of the recommended daily vitamins and
minerals, especially vitamins A,C,E, and Zinc. These specific nutrients help provide nourishment
to the skin.
Stretch mark removal isn't easy. In fact, it's almost impossible to totally eliminate them. The
advantage of an all-natural stretch mark remedy is that it's not expensive and it's safe. So, you
could give it a try and if it doesn't work, move on to the more powerful treatments.
The above natural methods might be effective for some, but not all of them
will work. Find out which stretch mark creams are clinically proven to work
