Purpose Statement
We are a dynamic self-organizing community dedicated to innovating distributed leadership and other methodologies of collaboration.
Our purpose is to nurture diverse communities of self-aware leaders who can address the challenges of our time.
21These came about as we continuously reflect on how we work together. We aim to live our principles.
GLC Principles
1. Effortless EffortWe practice working from choice and in alignment with our values.2. There's Nothing to FixWe practice responding to life as it is comes to us rather than from how we think it should be.3. Assume Best IntentionsWe assume that actions of others come from the intention to benefit the greatest good.4. Every Voice MattersWe practice listening to every voice, spoken or unspoken.5. Listen for EmergenceWe practice entering conversations with curiosity and listening for what wants to arise.6. Distributed LeadershipWe practice supporting everyone's greatest qualities to shine in community. 7. Encourage playfulness & experimentationWe value taking chances, having fun and learning as we evolve.
22These came about as we continuously reflect on how we work together. We aim to live our principles.
This is NOT about working frantically on the inside and tying to make things look relaxed on the outside. It is about connecting with what excites and nourishes you and work from there.
We practice working from choice and in alignment with our values. We might like taking out the garbage but if I know it contributes to the community and other values I will take on tasks effortlessly.
EXERCISE:Lets try to move from our bones not our muscles.Stand up. Feel your muscles.Stand in a way by bending down that your body is supported by your thighs.Feel your muscles supporting you as you stand.
NOW. Straighten your legs and relax your muscles. Let your bones do the work for you. Do you sense more effortlessness?

St. Augustine says sin is putting out loves in different priorities. Theres nothing wrong. It is simply re-organizing prioritizing. Its a priority shift.
Instead of judging, it is an opportunity to re-examine ourselves.
We assume that actions of others come from the intention to benefit the greatest good.

She listened to everyone, rich and poor, equally with generous compassion.
At the GLC we practice listening to every voice, spoken or unspoken. We listen to the voices that arent being heard too.In the conversation, I recommend you listen for what isnt being heard yourself.

We have all become better at listening to what wants to happen. A highly functioning team is good at this.
We practice supporting everyone's greatest qualities to shine in community.
