02. Technology Transfer in the West and East

Technology transfer is the process of transferring scientific

findings from one organization to another for the purpose of

further development and commercialization. Technology

Transfer is often mistakenly perceived to be focused on

patentable intellectual property (IP) and the act of licensing

the IP developed at universities. This session will explore

wide range of activities, models and incentives contained

within the broader term of “Technology Transfer” including

those with an emphasis on engagement with industry,

dissemination of information, the creation of new ventures

or otherwise.
