For six years, I was the director of the of the Prosthetics/Orthotics division at the Hospital of the
University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Clinical Instructor on the university’s faculty. Besides being
responsible for operational leadership of the division, my duties also included Orthopedic and PMR
resident education, and for 17 years I taught the University of Pennsylvania's annual Prosthetic Gait
Workshop.
As owner and principal of Logan Healthcare Consulting, I have assisted individuals and organizations
for over 20 years regarding business & network development, systems integration, regulatory and
compliance review, market analysis, operational efficiency, quality and cost control, facility planning
and design, product evaluation & assessment, and expert evaluation and testimony including medical
lifetime needs and cost analysis.
Throughout my career, by educating the general populace on both the needs and the abilities of those
with disabilities, through establishing programs to provide care to those who needed orthotic or
prosthetic, or by finding and educating prospective donors how their contributions can radically change
the life of someone with a disability - I have been actively involved in advocating and providing
necessary resources for those with disabilities.
As a below knee amputee athlete, I ran competitively against able-bodied runners. I have presented
lectures on amputee athletics, disabilities and prosthetics/orthotics at a variety of institutions in the
United States and Europe. I have been published in professional journals, provided expert analysis and
consultation to law firms, and my views on prosthetics/orthotics have been quoted in various
publications.
I am adaptable to any situation and goal oriented and I will not allow any obstacle to get in my way. In
my personal life, I have overcome multiple adversities, including two foster homes and the loss of my
right leg at age 23, and have taken those negatives and turned them into positives. As a certified
prosthetist/orthotist with over 25 years’ experience in the fields of orthotics and prosthetics, I have
enabled the disabled to return to lives they thought lost. My desire is to bring that energy, creativity,
attention to detail, and the ability to think “out of the box” to an organization that will give me the
opportunity to use it to the fullest potential.
