The rights of the employees• The nature and amount of the labour which the employee carries out

or unemployment.• The employee can demand that the conditions of the workplace should

damages of injuries.

The employee should continue the work in person. The employee cannot avoid working. The employees are responsible for taking care of the

properties and equipment of their employer. The employee should do his work in the best way

possible.

Islamic Labor Rights Related to Employer-Employee Relationship

• The first discourse is what should be the relationship between the employer

and employee?

• The Prophet (sm) infused justice, love, and dignity in all those around him.

• As an employee, he worked as a shepherd in his early years and then went

onto become a successful businessman.

• As an employer, he used to sit on the floor and eat with his servant boy.

• In Islam, appropriate compensation must be given to the work done.   

• It is very un-Islamic for a person to work another human being and at the end pay him little or no wage.

• Workers should not be overburdened and overwhelmed with work. They have the right to have both physical and mental rest. They are also to be given time to offer their prayers.

• At the same time, workers should have time for themselves and their families.

Counseling Functions• Advice: Counselors often give advices in order to guide them toward

desired courses of action.• Reassurance: The counseling experience often provides confidence

that they are following a suitable course of action.• Communication: Counseling is a communication experience. It

initiates upward communication to management.• Release of emotional tension: People tend to get emotional release

when they have an opportunity to discuss their problems with someone else.

• Clarified thinking: Serious discussion of problems helps a person to think more clearly.

• Reorientation: Reorientation involves a change in an employee’s basic self through a change in goals and values.

Requirements in Dismissing an Incompetent Employee

• Have a reasonable and objective performance standard. • Document employee’s performance indicating that he or she has

failed to meet the standards.• Have evidence of warnings given to the employee.• Show that appropriate training, support, time, and feedback have

been provided to the employee• Demonstrate that the employee concerned had reasonable time to

improve performance.

• Strengthening bilateral discussion for solving problems quickly and effectively.

• Multiplicity of authority creates rivalry in an organization.

• Political involvement must be reduced. • Management must help and guide employees to

settle industrial clashes and crisis. • If the demands of employees are reasonable and

real then it should be worked out.

Conclusion

• The capitalist countries have exploited the labour of the workers to a great extent for their own development. They have exploited first the slaves, then the workers and used the labour as a financial tool to increase their wealth. Islam has established the balance of individual-society-state and prioritized the security and livelihood of its communities with the principle of social justice.Allah Said:“ You are the great nation. You are created for the welfare of mankind. You order people to do the right and stop wrong doing”(Quran “ Surah 3, Verse 110)
