Welcome to Colombo North Local Committee

Colombo North Local Committee of AIESEC Sri Lanka, first established within the University of Kelaniya in 1995, currently consists of an accumu-lative membership of more than 120 undergrad-uates from all the faculties of the university. For the past 19 years we have provided increasingly splendid leadership and exchange opportunities for the global youth, and it is our ultimate purpose to broaden our potentiality even further in the

years to comeIn the year 2013 we received 200 NPS responses, counting up to the 10th best LC in the world in terms of most number of NPS responses; and in the 14/15 summer peak we became the LC with the highest number of NPS score, achieving 150+ realizations. What’s more, the LC expects 270

exchanges for the term 15/16.

Upcoming iGCDP ProjectsExplore Sri LankaThe project aims at revealing to the world the hidden beauty of the paradise island Sri Lanka. Photography and online presence will be the main elements of the project.TN fee 190 USD

Go GreenThe project works towards environment conservation and carries a series of workshops, campaigns and oth-er CSR activities focused on overcoming the key envi-ronmental challenges faced by Sri Lanka, with particular attention to waste management.TN fee – 130 USD

El OrfanatoThe project is targeted at orphan children towards developing their language skills and soft skills. To give an opportunity for the kids that has minimum chances to see the world and interact with the people and get a good English knowledge.TN fee – 110 USD

Guru GedaraGuru Gedara is an educational project which aims at improving English language competency of students at schools and educational institutes and share diverse cul-tural experienceTN fee – 110 USD

AyannaThis project is targeted at improving English language competency of preschool children and share diverse cul-tural experiences with themTN fee - 110 USD

La FammeThis project works to empower women by collaborating with NGOs focused on women empowerment and also by conducting seminars and workshops to develop legal. psychological and economic wellbeing of women.TN fee – 130 USD

Drug Free YouthThe project is aimed at reducing drug usage by Sri Lank-an youth by working with NGOs related with drug pre-vention and also by conducting seminars and workshops to create the correct mindset about drug usage and its consequencesTN fee – 130 USD

Youth in ActionYouth in Action is a community project initiated by AISEC CN LC aiming at enhancing skills and knowledge of Sri Lankan youth including university students, and to strengthen cultural relationships and increase interna-tional exposure through AIESEC internship programmeTN fee – 130 USD

The membership of GTP at Colombo North is diversely talented and dedicated to the achievements of the Local Committee in terms of GTP.CN provides opportunities for the following sub products: • Sales • Marketing • Language Education • IT • Tourism

Our exchange participants who apply for these opportuni-ties come from several key partners, one being the Univer-sity of Kelaniya itself. The other entities include :

Education, Women Empowerment, Environment and Health are the major areas that interest most our exchange participants. For the Global Talent program currently our key suppliers are Malaysia and India but our participants are more than willing to go for opportunities in other coun-tries as well.

The Right Person for the Right JobWe conduct comprehensive Student Review interviews so that we know we will be able to assure our suppliers that we can provide them with best possible participant. Also before the EP leaves the country we conduct the Outgo-ing Preparation Seminar and set the necessary expectation setting so that the EP that we provide will be corporative and understanding if issues arise.

AvailabilityThe participants from the University most of the time choose the Winter Peak while the students from other in-stitutes choose the Summer peak.
