Step One: Injury

Keep a record of the incident

Get contact details of any witnesses

Take photos of any evidence

Step Two: Contact

Research solicitors with expertise in the right area

Contact the firm and provide details of your accident

Find a solicitors firm that you trust

Step Three:Solicitor Assigned

You will be assigned a solicitor to take on your case

Liability (blame) will be accepted or denied

Your solicitor will send a letter of claim to the defendant

Step Four:Evidence Sought

Evidence will be sought to support your case

.. and witness statements from those present

This may include medical reports..

Step Five:Negotiation

An offer may be made by either side

Your solicitor will negotiate on your behalf for the best offer

Sometimes several offers are made before one is accepted

Step Six:Settle or Court

If you are happy with an offer you will settle out of court

If you go to court, a judge will make the final decision

If no agreement can be made, court proceedings will be issued
