NDT Training Programs
OUR VISION YOUR FUTURE
INTRO TO NDT The American Society of Mechanical
Engineers defines Nondestructive
Testing as the development and
application to technical methods to
examine materials or components in
ways that do not impair future
usefulness and serviceability in
order to detect, measure and
evaluate flaws: to assess integrity,
properties and composition and to
measuregeometrical characteristics. NDT is an exciting and challenging
career Field. Society relies very
heavily on NDT technology to keep
it as safe a place to live as possible.
A great deal of responsibility is
placed in the hands of NDT
technicians and engineers who keep
or aircrafts, trains, and automobiles
operating safely: our pipelines and
chemical plants from leaking; and
our theme park rides and bridges
from collapsing. Today NDT
technology is used by a wide variety
of industries as the work increases
to keep product quality high and
scrap rates low
SUITABLE FOR
All staff who needs basic training in
material inspection coupled with a
qualification in this field. All NDT
personnel, inspectors and
technicians engaged in, or
responsible for, inspection of
castings, forgings, welding or
fabricated items during manufacture
or in-service. Quality control and
assurance staff and supervisor
personal who are related to Quality
assurance and control
APPLICABLE SECTORS Courses and examinations are
designed to service all key industry
sectors including oil and gas,
aerospace, construction, power,
automotive and all courses are
supported by internationally
recognized certification. ZENITH
INSPECTION SERVICES counts
amongst its customers some of the
most influential companies on the
globe.
OUR MISSION
To provide technological industries
with qualified, certifiable
Nondestructive Technicians and
Quality Control Inspectors to an
Industry that is suffering the loss by
an aging work force
TRAINING PROGRAMMES ASNT NDT Level I
ASNT NDT Level II
ASNT NDT Level III (refresher course)
- CSWIP & AWS Welding Inspector
Preparatory Course
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Our courses are based heavily on
practical exercises, which when
combined with the recording, reporting
and answering of quizzes, results in the
understanding of a specific syllabus
segment. Up front lecturing is reduced
to a minimum and the emphasis is on
training to the precise, specific needs of
the individual. Exercises are regularly
backed up by the tutor, and all teaching
is backed up by texts
HANDS-ON-TRAINING An essential part of the hands-on
training is the inspection of components
that exhibit defects likely to be found in
the Fabrication industry. NDT inspection
training has accumulated an extensive
range of Defective samples that truly
represent the Fabrication sector. These
include samples related to aircraft
production such as welds, castings,
forgings samples related to in-service
structures and components including
corrosion, fatigue, stress corrosion and
erosion.
INSTRUCTOR Our instructors not only are
trained in their respective and
associated fields, they also have
years of wide ranging experience
as a result of interfacing with
national and international
clientele. Dedication is foremost in
our philosophy and our instructors
will allocate the additional time
necessary to ensure that all
students comprehend the
information being presented to
become competent with the
NDT/QC methods.

PHASED ARRAY INSPECTION
Phased array technology is the
ability to modify electronically
the acoustic probe
characteristics. Probe
modifications are performed by
introducing time shifts in the
signals sent to and received
from individual elements of an
array probe. Any ultrasonic
techniques for flaw detection
and sizing can be applied using
phased-array probes. Phased
array provides high speed
electronic scanning without
moving parts, improved
inspection capabilities through
software control of beam
characteristics, inspection with
multiple angles with a single
electronically controlled probe,
many configurations; P/E, T/R,
TOFD and Tandem, and greater
flexibility for inspection of
complex geometries (optimized
focusing and optimized beam
angle).Phased array can be
used for the following
applications; raw material
production, aircraft, naval,
power generation,
petrochemical and anything else
that currently applies pulse-
echo testing.

ULTRASONIC TESTING
High frequency sound pulses are
emitted from a transducer above
a sample. The sound waves
propagate through the sample,
and reflect at interfaces. The
reflected waves are monitored
using a detector above the
sample. The thickness of the
sample, and the depth and type
of flaw can be ascertained using
this method. The method can be
applied to most materials if sound
transmission is good. Quick high
sensitive results are obtained. The
testing is carried out from one side of the sample only.

EDDY CURRENT TESTING
If a magnetic field cuts through a
sample of metal that is not connected
to a circuit, an 'Eddy Current' is
produced. This eddy current is localized
in the metal, and has a flow pattern.
The flow pattern is disturbed by
discontinuities from the surface to a
shallow depth of penetration. The
method is quick and very sensitive. No
contact with the metal is required.
