• When creating a film, distribution is key for a movie to be successful and have an identity. • To define clearly what a distribution is, it is the

movement of good and services through a distribution channel all the way to the customer, consumer or user.

For example the company would distribute it to the cinemas so customers can see it and then after would be placed on a DVD to be distributed to the shops. • Films are distributed differently depending on what type

of film it is. (This could be big Hollywood films or smaller films)

How They Can Distribute Films?• Producers have the responsibility and the control on the finance

of the film which is how they agree to publicise it so that people can be aware that a brand new film would be released.

• Most likely high budget films would have the most awareness as they are more likely to get more funding unlike smaller UK films.• Films with a low budget are going to have a lower chance on

finding distributors. For example Reliance is known as a small distributor that is unlikely to afford expensive TV ads hence people being less aware of the movie , they would more likely use posters and internet.

Paramnesia• Paramnesia is portrayed as a psychological thriller film

which involves confusion and concern within the character and the audience. • Another psychological film that has been successful in

the past and has a similar type of storyline is Shutter Island.

• Paramount Pictures is the distributor of Shutter Island and many other psychological films such as Rear Window.

• As they are known for doing thrillers I believe that they would be interested in distributing our film as the concept of Paramnesia includes a story that is very tense and suspicious which is what the two popular thrillers contain above ( Shutter Island and Rear Window).

• Furthermore as Shutter Island has a very high rating of 8.1/10 from IMDb which is considered to be a very trust worthy review website I believe that it is because of the story line that got people really hooked with the film. This emphasizes how as Paramnesia has a similar story line because Aleena also loses her mind over imagining things , it also suggests that if Paramount pictures distributed us it would also be very popular conveying a better reputation for the company themselves then just the film.

Also another distributor that normally releases movies from the psychological thriller genre is Lionsgate. They released movies such as The Hunger games, Twilight , Divergent etc… This emphasizes that this distributor Lionsgate releases action movies that include elements of thrill and foundations of psychological stories/ situations within each movie.In addition this reveals how Lionsgate would also be a potential distributor for our film that would most likely be a success as:• firstly they do not tend to make movies that are for young

audiences revealing that it would be a good company to represent Paramnesia.• Secondly Lionsgate is a high budget company which would

benefit the movie as with good funding comes good media coverage and outstanding responses from our target audience leading to a good representation for Lionsgate.

UK audience or more?• I believe that Paramnesia would appeal to a wide audience all around

the world as having a distributor such as Paramount pictures would boost the support for a film and the awareness. • Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate are two distributors that release

both American and British films hence why if Paramnesia was distributed by one of these company's then it would most likely attract the American audience or maybe audiences around the world as popular films have spread throughout the globe coming from the two distributors.• I believe that the story line of Paramnesia is quite similar to other

thrillers released by Paramount cinemas indicating that if Shutter Island can attract many people around the world , then so can Paramnesia.

Marketing Strategies:• There are many ways that we can release Paramnesia to

the audience and bring the film to success.Firstly showing just the opening scene to the target audience can help us know if it would be a success by producing overt qualitative research from the audience. This illustrates that getting positive reviews from the audience can demonstrate a reliable purchase if coming to see the film in cinema and also emphasizes that it would give a better look on Paramnesia than just releasing an advert.

• To get the best review possible and for people to be happy on Paramnesia we need to find the ‘unique selling point’ from our film. This could be from the filters being applied to maybe the font added to our title.• If displaying this on a bus, billboard or maybe Posters it

could get people excited that there is a new movie out urging them to buy it or go see it in cinema. It also displays that if adding eye catching and bold elements it would get people interested and excited to see what this is about why it looks tense and slightly scary.• Eg: The hunger games poster being released on a big

board can get people hooked and excited.
