1. Introduction
This app provides you the feature of URL rewriting which means you can provide the URL for your
products and categories understandable by the visitors/customers.
2. Pre-requisites
Following points must be followed before starting the plug in installation:
o You should login as an Admin in Odoo.
o Check that your Odoo Instance is compatible for Delivery Date Scheduler.
o An e-commerce module should be present in your instance to use this app.
o This app will only work with the default odoo modules. If you have done any customization or you are using any customized module for ECOMMERCE/Eshop (website_sale) then you have to modify the templates in this app.
3. Installation
Step 1: Download and extract the zip file. Step 2: Check your Odoo add-ons path.
o It should be same as defined in Odoo Config file.
o Config files are mostly saved in /etc folder. For e.g. /etc/odoo.conf
o Open Config file:
Give the command: sudo/etc/odoo.conf
Config file content: addons_path = /opt/odoo/addons
Step 3: Open Terminal and go to download location o For e.g. if the download location path is : /home/odoo/Downloads then the command
to be written in the terminal would be: cd/home/odoo/Downloads
Step 4: Copy download modules to addons path
o Give the below mentioned commands to perform copy operation:
$cd /home/odoo/Downloads/url_rewrite_builder
$cd v8
$sudo cp url_rewrite_builder/opt/odoo/addons

Step 5: Restart Odoo server Step 6: Login with the admin credentials in your odoo instance. Step 7: Go to Settings/Update Module List.
o Click on “Update” button.
Step 8: Go to Settings/Local Modules o Remove search filter

o Enter module name in the search box provided in the top right corner of the page. For e.g. here write “URL Rewrite Builder”.
o Click on install button.

4. Plugin Configuration
Step 1: General Configuration
o Log into your Odoo Instance as Admin. Go to Website Admin→ Configuration. SEO URL Rewrite Module will be added.
o Enter suffix for product and category URL from php, html, htm, etc.
o Tick the check box if you would like to use category path for product URL.

Step 2: SEO URL for Products
o Go to Sales→ Products. Click on any product to view the detailed description. You will find “SEO URL” field in the detail view.
o Click on “Edit” button to add/edit the URL. o The suffix for the URL will be added as you entered in the configuration.
Step 3: SEO URL for Public Categories
o Go to Sales→ Configuration→ Products→ Website Product Categories. o Click on any category to view the detailed description of the same. You will find “SEO
URL” field in the detail view. o Click on “Edit” button to add/edit the URL. o The suffix for the URL will be added as you entered in the configuration.

Step 4: URL Rewrite Management
o Admin can view the SEO URL of products and categories he has entered for under one tab.
o This can be viewed by navigating through Sales→ URL Rewrite Management. o It is also possible to change the URL from here.

Front end:
o The product URL at the front end will be displayed as:
‘www.domain.com/product_seo_url.suffix’
o URL for public product category will be displayed as:
‘www.domain.com/category_seo_url.suffix’
