TheSlowReasonsofIPv6Implentatios

1. Low commitments to migrate to IPv6, because there are no urgent conditions which force to implement IPv6

2. IPv4 addresses are still available to support the the operator activities

3. There is no big project or killer applications in Indonesia which need big ammounts of IP Addresses

4. Socialization of the benefits to use IPv6 have not been informed, especially to the to top decision makers

5. Other classic reasons: network devices and applications do not support, lack of engineera knowledge , etc.

Page 17: IDNIC Update

IDNICPrograms to enhancedIPv6 Usage1. Working together with Minister of Communication and Information to force top

5 Cellular Opertors (Telkomsel, Indosat, XL-Axis, Smart Telecom, Hutchinson/Three) to migrate to IPv6

2. Implementation of IPv6 in all government agencies (national and local governments), specially in relation to public services, such as government procurement web, wifi community services, etc.

3. Implementation of IPv6 in banking and financial institutions, because of the security, IPv6 is much better than IPv4

4. Push ISP and NAP Providers to advertise IPv6 from all their clients5. Do comparative studies from other countries, which have success or better

implementation of IPv66. Do socialization to decision makers or top management of operators, Content

Providers, Device Vendor Network, End-User Equipment, etc, that implementations of IPv6 have lot of benefits for them

7. Make big programs which need lots of IP Address, such as CCTV and Traffic Light Management Control

8. IPv6 Fellowship Program9. IPv6 Skills Training/Engineer Certification10. Workshop: Advanced BGP, MPLS Deployment, Network Security, Routing

Workshop, etc,
