Create a free Optimizely account & add your test URL. You can create a free blogger or Tumblr page, as this provides a way to add Optimizely script to the page.
You need to add URL to run the test
Setting up the free account
Changing the Site ElementsClick on the editor & your variations. Your site will load & you can make various changes to the page in terms of color, position & others. Right click & make the changes.
URL TargetingSelect the URL where you want the test to Run. There are various options available like Simple match, broad match & others.
Audience TargetingSelect the kind of audience you want to taregt. There are various options available like By browser, OS, device & others. Once done, save it
Traffic AllocationSpecify the percentage of traffic that should be included in this experiment and be tracked for conversions.
Preview ModeClick on the preview mode & you will be taken to the below page. Here, you can check for whether the elements you have selected for testing is firing properly & to measure them.
Create GoalSelect the element you want to measure & include it in goal. You can define page views,Clicks & custom events to select & measure. Define goal name as well.
Optimizely ScriptInsert the below script to every page of the site where you are running the test. Once done, You can start the experiment.
ResultsResults are available in the Optimizely dashboard with both original & variation data.
