Why need ICP Enrollment
• If you are going to go live web site within China area, you have to apply the ICP enrollment Firstly.
• If you don’t, then your web site can’t go live.
I often put it on the way, the world has 2 internets –One is the inside China, the other is the outside China
Complete Steps to apply ICP
We are using “Aliyun” could as exampleWe show you each step with screen to lower mystery. The figure below shows the comprehensive steps
You can find this on Aliyun web site
• The First Review : Fill out all forms on the enrollment page on Aliyun cloud
• The Second Review : Take Photo on the check point place and upload to Aliyun cloud
• The Final Review : Send out the Paper Stuffs to the government department.
3 Reviews during ICP enrollment process
Step 1 Create account
1. Create an account on Aliyun web site
2. Create an Instance (VM)
After you create an instance, you should have a control panel like this.Each console page in cloud VSP, looks similar, for example AWS.
Step 2 Create ICP enrollment Accounton enrollment page
Although ICP enrollment page is the part of Aliyun web site, you still have to be aware that you have to create an account for ICP enrollment page. The different services are using different login account for authorization.
Step 3 Active ICP login account
You will see the email that asks you to active ICP login account. Go click and login
Step 4 Enter ICP Enrollment Page
After activation, you are in
Step 5 Fill out the company profile
5.1 Prepare Business License
5.2 Find the IP binding ID on Aliyunservice page

5.3 The process will take couple days or weeks to complete
You can’t complete the apply by one shot, it will take week to complete it. So you can come back to keep going at any stage.
Step 6 Fill out the Company Owner Profile
Need local information
Step 7 Fill out the Website Owner Profile

Step8 Upload company owner and website owner licenses
Need local information
Step 8 Upload Inquire Form
Only fill in signature, do not have to answer each question Upload to Aliyun
Step 9 Upload All Licenses
Step 10 Wait for the First review
Here is the First review, which means you will face more reviews later. Usually the First review is quite fast, whatever SUCCESS or FAIL
Step 11 Get the First review feedback email - Success / Reject
You past the First review. Next move -> Get the Photo Approval email from Aliyun
Step 12 Take Photo at Check Point Staion
• After you get the first review approval, then you have to go to the check point station to take a picture to make sure you are the REAL web site owner. After that, then upload to the Aliyun.
• Alternative, you can buy the background screen, after take photo, you can upload to back to the Aliyun.
Interesting
That is the first time to get know make sure you are the real web site owner by going somewhere to take a photo. (usually, that check point place is far away )
Step 12.1 Get the Photo Review Approval
Get the Photo Approval email from Aliyun You past the 2nd review.
Step 13 Deliver the Paper Stuffs to Government
Sending the paper stuffs to the government by Aliyun
Got the email from Aliyun, and said Aliyun has received the paper stuffs
Step 13 Wait for Paper Stuffs review approval
Show you that the government has received your request, and wait for approval . Usually in one week.
Step 14 Get the Final Approval from the government dep.
When get the final approval, then you have to put the ICP ID with link under the footer on page.When you are adding more domain, you can come back to ICP enrollment page, with the same enrollment paper Stuffs and send out. This time will speed up a lot.
Step 15 Create DNS A record
After you got the final approval from the government, then you can link your domain name and IP
Make sure Create A record for Doman name to link to IP
Type the domain name later (couple hours later, depends on DNS prorogation time, usually in couple mins, quite soon) , you will see the web site.
