Looking back at your preliminary task (the continuity editing task), what

do you feel have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

Shot Reverse Shot

(Screen Shot) I used this shot in my preliminary task. In doing so, I have learnt that this shot is used

best when showing a conversation between two people. I didn’t use this in my film

opening as this would not fit in, however this shot is very effective in a certain shot.

Match On Action

(Screen Shot)

This shot was used both in my film opening and my prelimanary task. I understood

that this shot is the best way to show people walking from place to place and it

makes the movement of the person seem shorter so it doesn’t take too much time. I

used Match On Action on the character who kicks the protagonist down this is where

I had made it quick and snappy. This was a really well performed Match On Action

as it made it look realistic. I know now what this shot is used for and when.

180 Degree Rule

(Screen Shot) The 180 degree rule was definetly used in my preliminary and film opening. I have

learned that if I don’t keep this rule then it would look like the character are in a

different location as I would be filming from both sides of the area which will confuse

the audience. I have gained confidence in using the 180 degree rule from my

preliminary task and now was able to apply it to my own film opening.
