PSYCHOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES
2. Life through the eyes of a young girl, living in a war torn
country. A hungry, bitter existence, attributed by many to enemy
troops. Left to fend for herself, the girl has to take
extraordinary measures to survive. Choices holding dire
consequences are made during the war, many influenced by personal
sentiment. SUMMARY
3. PSYCHOLOGICAL CONCEPTS
4. SCHEMA The little girl had a framework formed of the enemy
army, based on experiences and triggered by certain cues which
brought up certain attitudes
5. PERSPECTIVE OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY The decisions the girl made
pertaining the theft of the food was based off of the basic
instinct of survival. She needed food in order to survive.
6. COST-BENEFIT MODEL The other war victims would not help the
little girl because the cost of helping is much more than the
benefit they would gain from it. They determined that it wasnt
worth helping the girl as they would be killed by the soldiers if
they tried anything.
7. FEAR BASED APPEAL The commander intended to use the girls
public execution as a deterrent against any such occurrences in the
future. This would work by inciting fear into the onlooking war
victims
8. DISPOSITIONAL ATTRIBUTION The commander immediately imposed
that the reason the little girl stole is because she was
intrinsically a bad person, not because of her hunger.
