OUR COMPANY

FROM THE BEGINNING OUR PRODUCTS

OUR QUALITY

The Wallace® brand is part of the Smiths Medical International family and consists of; embryo replacement catheters, oocyte recovery needles and a range of Obstetrics and Gynaecology devices. To achieve the highest quality products we work closely with leading clinicians, nurses and embryologists across the world.

We understand the importance of providing customers with the highest quality devices, so we ensure MEA and LAL testing is carried out on all individual batches.

All of the Smiths Medical manufacturing sites are certified against the internationally recognised quality standards ISO9001:2008, ISO13485:2003 and the European Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, enabling us to apply the CE mark to our devices. For products that we sell into the US we also have 510K approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Following the success of the Wallace® Classic embryo replacement catheter we have developed a range of single and dual lumen oocyte recovery needles. In addition to these two product families we have an intra-uterine insemination catheter and a range of Obstetrics and Gynaecology devices. We continue to work closely with leading clinicians to develop high quality and innovative products for the assisted reproduction field.

Building upon the proven design of the soft Wallace® Classic embryo replacement catheter and the echogenic Sure View® catheter we introduced the Sure-Pro® embryo replacement catheters. The Sure-Pro® catheter range combines the softness of the Classic catheter, with the benefits of a supported inner catheter and a pre-formed outer sheath. The Sure-Pro Ultra® range offers an echogenic variant utilising the patented Sure View® technology within the inner catheter.

Over 30 years ago we worked with the pioneers of IVF to design the first Wallace® embryo replacement catheter. We believed that creating the softest method to place the embryo back into the uterus would give families the best chances of success1-5. We have continued to work closely with the experts of IVF as our product range has evolved, but still maintain the original hand crafted soft catheter tip. To this day we still remain the catheter of choice for many clinics across the globe and are continually associated with the highest pregnancy rates1-5.

THE WALLACE® CATHETER STORY….

The Classic Catheter

The Sure View® Catheter

Our Classic embryo replacement catheter was there from the beginning of IVF. With its soft handcrafted inner lumen and formable outer sheath, it is associated with some of the highest success rates across the world1-5.

With its patented technology, Sure View® is the first and only of its kind where the whole catheter from tip to hub is visible under ultrasound7. More and more clinicians and embryologists are witnessing a marked improvement in pregnancy rates when using ultrasound during embryo replacement procedures6 -11.

Ultrasound image of the Sure View®

catheter within the uterus

The Sure-Pro® CatheterThe Sure-Pro® and Sure-Pro Ultra® embryo replacement catheters give added support and control when presented with a potentially difficult procedure. With a selection of pack variations available, the catheter can be provided with both Classic and Sure View® inners, and with a malleable stylet or flexible obturator.

POSITIONING OF THE WALLACE® CATHETERThe soft Wallace® Inner Catheter is the only section designed to enter the Uterus.

The flexible Outer Sheath is designed to guide the catheter through the cervical canal up to the Inner OS. The Inner Catheter can then be progressed into the uterus and positioned for embryo replacement.

The Sure View® TechnologyThickness of smooth Inner layer is 0.14mm (±0.05)

Sure View® Cross section(Bubbles shown are for representation only) The Sure View® catheter maintains the unique hand crafted tip and smooth inner surface as the Wallace® Classic catheter.

KEY PRODUCT BENEFITS

• Soft material and smooth tip minimises trauma and maximises success rates1-5

• Formable outer sheath to suit different patient anatomies

• Centimetre markings to show outer sheath depth and inner lumen protrusion for confidence

of placement within the uterus

• Trial transfer catheters allow for confident positioning of the outer sheath before introducing the embryo loaded inner. Clinicians have found this technique to have a positive impact on pregnancy rates6
