Caesarian or Surgical Delivery

• The baby is removed from the uterus through the incision on the abdominal wall.

Induced Birth Labor

• This is induced through artificial means by using a synthetic hormone called oxytocin,which speeds up the birth process by stimulating uterine contractions.

Forceps Delivery

• Forceps are used to pull down the baby’s head in the following cases:

a. When anesthesia has slowed down the progress of labor ,

b. when the fetus is in distress,c. If hemorrhage threatens the life of child and

the mother.

Lamaze Method

• This is a relaxed way of giving birth. • This involves voluntary relaxation of

the abdominal muscles through proper breathing in order to increase oxygen intake and distract the mother from labor pains.

• This is the most common and cheapest kind of delivery that is sometimes done at home.
