Even though many of the Good Samaritan Society’s practices
regarding death and dying are tied to the Christian faith, our best practices remain the same for a person who is dying and not a Christian, including:
Giving privacy to
that person and his or her family.
Providing comfort measures for the one who is dying.
Answering questions
about the dying process.
Making sure everyone present feels loved and at peace.
For those in our care who are dying and not Christian, we seek to
facilitate the involvement of a leader from that person’s faith tradition.
It’s important for our staff to understand and respect all beliefs
about death and dying that a person who is not a Christian might have.
This upholds the Society’s belief, expressed in our motto, that
“In Christ’s Love,Everyone Is Someone.”
